I will start by saying that although I did some simple cross stitches as a child (probably at around age 10/11!) I hadn't picked up a needle to do any for probably 20 years when I ordered this set and have to say I was a little worried about whether it was beyond my capabilities given how little experience I had, the size of the piece and the number of colour changes.I needn't have worried, just following the instructions (and a YouTube reminder on French knots!) I picked this up really quickly and am really pleased with the results. Honestly, once you've done a line or two, you'll have the knack!I had seen a few reviews on here from people saying they didn't have enough of certain colours of thread. On that I was very careful to sew to the end of the thread and not to move from one section to another without tying off and cutting it to restart in the new spot. Again, this wasn't an issue and I definitely could have been a lot less concerned about it - I have loads of thread left in all of the colours!Overall a fantastic project that kept me busy in the evenings for a few weeks and has been very well received by the friends I made it for. I'll attach a photo to this review - I apologise that the colours look a little dull, I was photographing in the evening and trying to avoid a light glare from the frame so it's not the best but you get the idea!

It's a lovely baby sampler and there is plenty of thread given (I Had at least 6 threads left of most of the colours) and the organizer is good but it loses a star coz the thread is glue to the organizer so you have to cut it bit of thread at a time and can't put unused thread but a nice simple holed organizer would have been better especially as its very big so I had to cut each section I was using off carefully as not to cut any of the threads on either side and carried that around with me till I completed each colour. It has been a labour of love as of course with all packed designs the thread isn't DMC or ANCHOR and threads had a tendency of knotting which at times become VERY frustrating when you are trying to get a rhythm going! That said it looks good and is definitely worth the pain and I'm now very good at getting knots out :) The instructions and very well written and chart is very easy to understand. I would recommend this sampler as its lovely and colourful and the sense of pride you will feel afterwards is just brilliant.Summary could have been a bit better with organizer and thread but considering the price a bargain which your child will treasure forever!

Bought this to do for my new born nephew. It is a lovely design and a good price. There are 2 things I've encounter as issues with this item, the pattern is not printed on paper so I cannot use a pencil to shade in the areas which I have done and the thread is attached to the card at the top, usually there is a hole that they are threaded through so it is easier to remove and re-thread

Bought this for a friend who had a baby, didn't find out the gender so had to go neutral, lovely cross stitch pattern for that, didn't take me too long to do. My only complaint would be you don't get anything to attach your cotton onto once it's been cut to use which I found a bit annoying, ended up making my own with a bit of card as I was worried I might loose bits. But I had LOADS of cotton left over so you do get plenty. In the end it came out beautiful and my friend loved it 🙂

I chose this design as it was suitable for either a boy or a girl for a friend who was expecting her first baby. Turns out it was a girl. I chose to complete the design on 18 count aida rather than the 14 count it was supplied with and I'm really glad I did as it makes it the perfect size and also the stitches are much smaller and neater. Also I chose to leave off the border as the train and animals make a nice design in itself so decided to leave off the border. It also made it easier to frame the cross stitch once it was finished as it would have to be perfectly square in the frame if the border was added.

Great cross stitch kit, a lot of fun to do. I found there was plenty of thread; I even have quite a bit left over. The thread organizer is a bit of a pain as the threads all tangled but I used thread organizers which helped. My only criticism would be the fact the pattern only has full square stitches and as a result some of the shapes end up being quite distorted, the hearts for example on the carriages are very misshapen if you just follow the pattern exactly. I adjusted the pattern and used some half and quarter stitches which made proper heart shapes which look much better. Apart from this it's great - lovely and bright and will look great in my niece or nephews nursery. Would definitely recommend it. Probably more suited to someone with a little cross stitch experience.

Nice colourful kit with pre-sorted threads on a card.

I had never tried this before but I love it. It is addictive and hopefully will look good when finished. I intend to frame it for my first grandson.Unfortunately there was not sufficient thread to finish the design. Despite numerous e- mails,promises of help and me volunteering to pay for the extra thread - nothing was forthcoming. As it is an American Company it is difficult to match the colours as the numbers are obviously different.I even went through Amazon to try to get a response/ help to no avail.Such a shame as I would no longer buy from this company.
