Super Simple Duo Screens
This was about as simple as they come when installing. Natively, the port on the opposite end of the box to the USB cable is DVI, which is what I had as the lead to my monitor, but if you have a HDMI connector, the box comes with standard and mini HDMI to DVI converters. The instruction manual advises you to go to the manufacturer's website to download drivers that will enable yo to play about with refresh rates and screen resolutions if necessary, though, in my case, with a reasonably up-to-date Windows 10 installation, the adaptor had the DVI output from the monitor installed then the USB plugged into the USB 3 port on my laptop and a couple of seconds later, I have two screens with the desktop spread across both. These screens aren't the same size so it does take a bit of juggling to get the applications on the best screen for that application (video on the bigger screen, which is plugged directly into the HDMI on the laptop) and despite being around five to six years old now, there doesn't seem to be any additional strain imposed of the system.

Does NOT output to 2048x1152 (nor duel link)
Product doesn’t output to duel link dvi for my 30” Dell monitor - maximum output I could advice was 1280 x 800, I.e. single link - no better then a dvi to hdmi cable. Tried it on three different computers, downloaded drivers, reset all computers and went through FAQ for hours - doesn’t work. Option came up in windows for 2048x1152, however when you select it - black screen (I.e no output). Same issue on all three computers.Returned. Beware.

This is a great product. Well designed and in my case it worked first time on dual monitor installation. For my 2nd DELL monitor I had no 2nd output on my graphics card. 1st monitor has a VGA output and I connected via USB2 to the VGA port on 2nd monitor (also @ 1920 x 1200) and the picture quality is excellent. I also have the additional options of DVI & HDMI outputs if I upgrade my PC at a later date. This product has exceeded my expectations. I can strongly recommend this Plugable USB 3.0 to VGA/DVI/HDMI adapter.https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00A2E1MQA/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_0 Plugable USB 3.0 to VGA / DVI / HDMI Video Graphics Adapter for Multiple Monitors up to 2048x1152 / 1920x1080 (Supports Windows 10, 8.1, 7, XP)

Plug and Play, excellent product - just works!
I have a Plugable dual monitor docking station Plugable UD-3900 USB 3.0 Universal Docking Station with Dual Video Outputs for Windows 10, 8.1, 7, & XP (HDMI and DVI / VGA, Gigabit Ethernet, Audio, 6 USB Ports, 20W Power Adapter) but needed this as well as I have 3 monitors attached to my laptop. This works by using one of the USB ports on the dock, and more could be added if needed (one connector per monitor). This works really well and, although it is not recommended for video, I have had no problems running streaming video, webcams or video playback on the monitor connected to it. Unlike other commentators, I haven't had any problems with loose connections. I am using it with the VGA connector as the monitor it's connected to only has that option.I am extremely impressed by the Plugable products and wouldn't hesitate in buying them again, or in recommending them. I did have some pre-sales queries and they responded very promptly and gave me helpful answers, even warning me that my intended usage of running streaming webcams may not work properly. I still decided to buy this and everything works as I'd hoped. For anyone running a multiple monitor set up, the addition of specialist multi-monitor software to control it makes everything a breeze. I use software called Display Fusion, [...] and would highly recommend it. The support is also excellent if you should run into problems.

Much better than expected!
The first concern I read was that the lead comes very loose and causes intermittent connections. I'm pleased to say that the lead on mine is currently fits nice and snugly. A review on Amazon.com notes that if you get this problem, getting a new USB -> MicroUSB lead solves the issue so I'm fully prepared to buy a new one if things go awry. The second concern is that the performance would be rubbish on my laptop which is only USB 2.0... Well, I'm pleased to say that it works really well. I wouldn't dare to watch video on it (although a quick dose of flash video seemed to work fine) but as my third screen to read e-mail and long boring document on it works scarily well. Dragging windows between monitors is absolutely flawless - it works as well and snappily as the built in GPU, and if task manager is to be believed there's very little CPU/memory overhead from the included DisplayLink drivers.Install was fine on my XP laptop. Plugged it in, Windows Update downloaded and installed the driver, and it worked immediately - adding a third monitor to my current dual header setup.I purchased this one in particular due to the fact you can use VGA, DVI and HDMI outputs, most of the USB 3.0 capable ones are DVI/HDMI or VGA only. I also bought a USB 3.0 one because I wanted to futureproof my purchase.

Works as advertised
Needed this as my new work laptop only has 1 x HDMI output and I wanted a dual monitor setup. The USB-C on the laptop doesn't support video so I was left with a USB option. This was a great price and worked straight out of the box. Plugged into the USB 3.0 port on the laptop and used the included adaptor to plug into the device and plug the HDMI lead in.
