Alienware R4 17 hdmi output issue no display port
Ok here's my review first an over view of problem. I am an extreme pc gamer build pcs have a motion platform several types of VR and basically spend all my spare time playing and building. Have an Alienware R4 7820k gtx 1080 4k screen. Can't connect latest index or pimax straight to pcHave tried the graphics amp which is a pain to get working but did get it going with a 2080ti which was ridiculous. Only trouble it's so temperamental you only have to look at it wrong pc craches reinstall windows etc. So literally after 6 months if trying different power supplies loading different software I remembered there is a mini-display port on the back which can also be thunderbolt-3 now I didn't hold mush hope for this.End result it works as long as you use it as a mini display port and don't use the thunderbolt 3 driver.Index works great in room scale. I down Res the screen to 1080p just to give the GPU some headroom it plays half life alyx and walking dead etc as well as all the stuff at 90hz some at 120hz all be it in lower setting but that's ok.If your having the same issue this is a fix and remember the index is funny about usb3 so I bought a multi usb3 to usb-c connector and all sorted. Loads of pain and head scratching by me hope you find this useful.#swenmeister Instagram

As described, cheap, quick to arrive, and it just WORKS.
I bought this as a replacement for the identical adaptor that originally came with my Cintiq 27QHD, but got lost. Don't really need it right now since my new computer has DisplayPort, but I wanted to have an adaptor around in case I had to use the laptop again, or maybe sell the Cintiq. What can I say? It works, simple as that.Description left no doubts, it's just the right length, correct input and output, and I checked that it runs the screen at 2560x1440, so it probably also does 4K as advertised but I don't have a 4K display yet to check (will try again when I do).Couldn't really ask for more!

All in all ok, maybe some compatibility issues.
Does what it says on the tin. I use it with my 15'' 2015 retina MacBook Pro and an external DELL 24'' 1080p screen. Only gripe I have is it sometimes it establishes a bit of an imperfect contact and my menu bar on my Mac external screen can be of a different colour or of differente colours on the top right corner, not sure it is a connector issue, a screen issue or software matter... but just wanted to mention it as it may not be 100% compliant. Nothing that a few attempts at replugging it would not solve.

Rankie cables and adaptors WORK and WORK and WORK - what more do you want?
Regular use with MS Surface Books converting the Mini-DP to DP (also have the same adaptor Mini-DP to HDMI) so that wherever I touch down, home and abroad, office or hotel, I can connect to a screen.Picture quality is perfect, the connector is a positive fit, the adaptor is stiff enough, yet flexible enough, to support the weight of the cable without twisting the plug in the socket. No concerns this will fail at either end of the adaptor as the plugs are well fused to the cable. All piano black plastic to start, this does scratch when carried around in the cable bag, but that is only cosmetic, no impact on the function.I have several Rankie cables and adaptors, they all work, they are keenly priced and I use them very frequently - daily laptop worker, connecting and reconnecting cables several times every day. No need to look further or pay more ... these will do the job!

Works with valve index vr.
Needed to connect new valve index vr headset to mini display port on my computer. Some reviews said this worked, others that it didn't. I have to say it works great for me. Can't say if picture quality would be better without using adapter. For me it was a cheap solid solution to a problem that Valve wanted to solve by refunding the hundreds of pounds cost of the headset rather than include their own adapter!

Mini DP to Dual DVI-D Connection
I have an unusual setup and needed to go from a Surface Pro 4 to a 27" 2560 x 1440 monitor with a Dual DVI-D connector. The Surface Pro 4 is mini displayport and due to my monitor being 2560 x 1440 resolution I needed something that would correctly pass through the signal so used a Bizlink active adapter (see here - http://www.amazon.co.uk/Dell-BizLink-DisplayPort-Adapter-Powered/dp/B003XYBA72). Without the BizLink adapter I would have been limited to 1920 x 1080.This concerted the output to displayport female allowing me to plug the BizLink adapter in line to the monitor. Worked first time and no issues so far.

Bit fiddly to get display port working sometimes.
This didn't work but then it did. The key issue is the Display Port standard - it's very difficult to trouble shoot when things don't work. Which is frequently. That's not the fault of this adapter though. Turning the power at the wall off, leaving for a few minutes and then turning it on again seemed to sort things out.So eventually this adapter worked fine driving two monitors at 1920x1200. Hope it continues to do so.

Work exactly as advertised, what more can I say?
I need to run my 1440p G-Sync monitor off DisplayPort, this is fine for my home computer because my Graphics card has multiple DisplayPort sockets, but my work Macbook does not, and running off HDMI would result in a 1440p monitor running at a blurry non-native 1080p at 60hz.This adapter has allowed me to run my monitor off my work Macbook at 1440p 120hz, so i'm quite happy with my purchase overall. The adapter seems durable and the price was fair.
