What is the maximum payload?

From the peak design website: Strong enough to hold any pro camera/lens/accessory combo. Anchors each hold over 200lbs (90kg) and feature extreme abrasion-resistance.

Does this come with the key to tighten the base plate as well as a cloth bag to hold it all?

Yes, the kit comes with a hex headed wrench and the base plate, all in a small cloth bag with the company logo on.

Would this hold the weight of a canon 80d?

Yes, but it’s fairly narrow, so although it will secure and hold the camera and what ever lens you have on it, the strap may become uncomfortable on the neck due to the weight, something that’s not really an issue with mirrorless cameras.

Does this come in retail packaging? Mine turned up in a bag!

Mine arrived in lavish P.D. packaging. It sounds as though yours might have been one that somebody had previously returned.
