Blowout Preventer.....
This unit replaced an older model that was kaput. Installation was straightforward and relatively easy. There are no written instructions, so be sure to FULLY watch the YouTube video on installing AND setting up the Bluetooth, if you require it.

Poor execution of a good idea
Do NOT buy this product. It is hard to install and doesn't last.I've had 3 or 4 of these over the past 20 years or so. They seem to last 5-6 years maybe before something fails. The first just stopped working, perhaps due to a power surge, although I do have a whole house surge suppressor so maybe not. I recall the second unit doing the same, it just died. The third unit died when it was no longer able to open the cold water valve more than a trickle, making the laundry take hours to finish. The latest unit (purchased in 2023) lasted about a year. It appeared to work as it should, however the flow rate through the unit was less than a gallon per minute. Without the unit in place, the flow rate was 8 gallons per minute. I will not be replacing it with another. The plastic housing is an absolutely awful design choice. It is much too easy to cross thread the fittings when trying to install. If the pipes are even slightly non-parallel or the spacing is even a fraction of an inch off, you will have great difficulty getting this thing in place. The WiFi feature borders on useless. It requires a connection to Watts' server to tell you if the moisture detector tripped via a notification or email. I'm not sure why this is useful, as I'd discover this fact myself the next time I checked on the laundry. The only somewhat useful aspect of this is to let you know your home internet connection is not working. The fact it needs to phone home to Watts' servers is also disappointing.I wanted to like this thing. I bought a bunch. It is a five star idea. The execution is zero stars.

Good device bad owner manual
This thing works great… if you understand it and ignore the outdated manual. The manual refers to a yellow light. The old version had a yellow light. The updated version has an orange light. A distraction but shows lack of care.More importantly the old version would shut the valve immediately ( yellow light switching off) following the washer stopping and detecting no current. The new model has a timer and shuts off the valve 15 mins after detecting no current from the washer ( orange goes off). If you follow the manual it will have you going mad with trying resets, and recalibration to try to shut off valve once washer stops. It also states if light stays on after washer turns off it blames “ newer washers “ as the problem. Suggests you should buy their $250 timer and rewire the device. Be aware of device’s internal timer which is nowhere explained in user manual. I’m sure it was overlooked upon upgrading the model from old model and using same old manual. Piss poor from Watts. Hope this helps those who are following manual and going crazy ( like me).

Not and reliable product, 3rd failure in 3 years
This was the 3rd time I’ve replace this valve in three years, 1st failed after 8 months in use (I do generally 2 loads a week) the control board went up in smoke.Watts replaced unit under warranty, unit was not installed and sat in box for six months once installed it only lasted 6 months, Hot Water valve solenoid would start chattering and cause loud water hammering of the pipes. (Watts said unit was out of warranty)Second unit failed last week, ordered it through Amazon 6/15 and installed 6/16, unit would not power up at all, returned to Amazon 6/17.Having been in the instrumentation and controls engineering field for 40+ years, Watts Commercial products were something I always specified for my design projects, however the residential line defiantly needs to make some serious improvements, or just stop producing residential products.
