I purchased this rail for a library im making at home, the items are sturdy and look well built. The inside of the rail is 3/4 in, not sure if that means something but its solid steel that wont bend easily. From the package i was missing the in-between rail connectors, so i went to lowes to buy a 3/4 coupling riser and cut off parts with a saw to make it fit. The instructions are not clear as to what screws are to be used for what, it only shows images. The screws i used would strip easily not sure if other had the same issue but i had to remove about 4-5 with pliers and use screws i had around. The part that i like is the sliding rail and the mechanism to move the ladder out or store it away. I did not purchase the ladder and built my own. Saw it off a youtube video, used a 1x4 frame (.75x3.5) to build it. Fits just right on the rollers.

Absolutely love this ladder. It looks stylish and is quite practical. I can easily reach my plants on the high shelf. I painted it white.

First off, the parts themselves are great quality. How to assemble leaves a bit to be desired. First off, since the ladder is sold separately there are no predrilled holes for the casters are the upper rollers. With that said, I spent a bit of time getting the the angles established in order to have the casters properly aligned when the ladder is deployed. Because you're mounting metal to wood when it comes to the upper rollers; that needed adjustment as well. I spent a bit of time sanding the wood contact areas and a portion of the metal in order to get the pieces to move smoothly.Once that is done, the easiest way to determine where to mount the rod was to lean the ladder up as if it were deployed with the steps level. Then measure from the highest point on the roller fully extended down 2.75". Another annoying thing was the rollers themselves were not spaced properly to mount onto the rod. This is easily fixed though as the design is simple.When it comes to mounting rod segment to another segment, it was near impossible with the installed o-rings. I had to replace then with thinner o-rings for them to insert easily enough for installation onto the wall.You definitely need more tools than the instructions suggest and more steps too. So just think they your installation first and use what they provide as a good.

Missing several pieces. Bent tracks and bad packaging. Finish is okay. Not able to assemble or complete. Very unhappy

The ladder and hardware is great, however we are missing a critical piece to keep the ladder more stable. There are two hinges with sliders that are installed at the top of the ladder. Both sliders need a hex nut screwed into place to keep both sliders in the same position when you extend the ladder out from the wall its installed on. We are missing one of these hex nuts so the ladder isn't as stable as it could be. I would like someone to reach out to me to send me a replacement part.
