This thing leaves a Pop2 Revopoint in the dust ! No Comparison
The media could not be loaded. This thing scans really fast, has great detail, is 10 times better than a Revopoint 3d Pop 2 and it a great deal on top of it all. You have to have a fast video card 1030 or better with more than 8 gigs of ram in it. I use the Gigabyte GeForce RTX3060 and it works fantastic. I had to get assistance to get it working but it turns out most of the issue was I am too scared to allow network activity and its necessary for their cloud or whatever. I reset my firewall back to defaults then loaded program and had to give permission to two things then it started working. I also loaded drivers directly off their website to prevent scanner from turning on and off in device manager.

Didn't Workout for me
Tried to reverse eng some steel parts, but it takes way to long to set up and then it's very hard to get anything scanned. Also the software wouldn't load up even after 10 minutes.

I HATE THIS THING SO MUCH!
my list of complaints is LONG ...too long!DOESNT SCAN ANYTHING IN ANY SIZE OR SETTING OR LIGHT WORTH USINGSTUPID GRIPLESS DESIGN COVERED BY A SLICK AS SNOT "PROTECTIVE" COVERTOO HEAVY TO USE FOR MORE THAN A FEW MINUTESNO OFF SWITCH....MEANING YOU HAVE TO PLUG AND UNPLUG OVER AND OVER ( ya that'll last! )HORRIBLE INSTRUCTIONS.... if you can even call it that. you tube has far better but that begs the question "how to THESE people learn this stuff?" - and while im on that subject, the results you see ae NOT the results you'll likely get....trust me i copied point for point and not even closewell, id love to rant more ( and i absolutely could ) but this is the LAST few seconds of my life i will ever dedicate to this POS... since its past the send it back to hell where it belongs date its going to the next best place because i dont even want to look at it... THE CITY DUMP!

I have a few scanners but Bang for buck this is king
I have a LOT OF Scannersall the Revopoints POP, POP2, mini, creality.Einscan HX, Einstar , and the new Freescan combo.every scanner has it's pros and cons this is not void of thiswhere this thing excels is scanning people and or anything that's not glossy or uses a spay or powder coating. what you get from this is a very solid software package.I had this for a while and used it to scan my kids and make 3rd printer chess pieces. and car interiors and part's.I have upgraded to the freescan blue light unit and for parts and car stuff that is a king on black and glossy objects but with blue lasers it's not safe for people and even some objects.3d scanning at or near a pro level is not a 1 click operation it's got many manual steps. is a skill all it's own but it's the missing link in the modern home garage, if you have more than one 3d printer and have the skills to build another and are looking for that next deep step into solution based modelling, this can help you digitize a problem so you can design a solution, it's not a replacement for tools but an extension, that said the freescan-combo can replace many tools but it did cost as much as my daily driver.if you do miniatures, look else where this is for complex objects in the 6+cubic inches upto the size of a small car. needs a good gaming laptop or desktop to do anything my laptop amd 6800u + RTX 3070 + 32GB DDR5 is flawless for this. even the 3050 ti in my old lenovo is fine for small scans but ram is limiting it. my desktop is a 7950x + a RTX 4090 128GB of DDR5 5200mhz OC'd to 5600mhz it can crunch very large clouds in no time. but as i have said scanning is a skill almost an art for something complex the size of a chair you might spend 30-45mins getting good scan data and 5x that cleaning it up and filling pin holes. moving that data to cad and cleaning holes and adding planes and data that can be built off of. it's not for the faint of heart I come from a CAD and design background so this is a world i have lived in for decades and for a something like a engine cover 1hr to scan 5hrs of data prep 3hrs of cad work is about expected time flow.pickup a lazy susan. and markers are random to it or make a larger top paint it a dark gray.i used a 16in bearing and a 24in diameter 1in thick mdf I paint space gray added markers and wrapped in satin paint protection film. use lots of markers for around 60$ you can get rolls of 5000 of them.

Lousy scans, lousy unfinished software
Software interface is unpolished, several features were disabled, interface is clunky and not user friendly. In order to be able to scan, the software forces account registration and requires Internet connection during use - this is rather troublesome considering SHinning3D is Chinese company. The device feels solid in hand, but scans were too noisy despite multiple attempts to scan a simple well lit object.
