Stabila LAX50 Cross Line Laser

Stabila is very a well known and respected maker of spirit levels and should not be confused with other lesser known brands as quality is pretty much assured with Stabila so when I saw this product I expected a lot and was not disappointed at all. First of the pole and the tripod are actually the same item you detach the tripod legs to convert them to a pole and all collapse into a single unit with the laser level fitting neatly within the tripod platform module so a case is not required but I may convert a camp chair bag to a hold all for this to keep it clean. The level works great as it settles down quickly and throws the Red Cross laser line in quite a wide angle from a few feet away the laser wraps around three walls and floor and ceiling too. The laser is bright and clear inside the house but don't I expect it to be that good outside in bright conditions.In tripod mode the level sits on a foam pad which can revolve quit easy so leveling around the room with ease but it just sits there unsecured and could be knocked of the tripod quit easily but to over come that an elastic band strap supplied can be used to secure it. On the pole it clips to quite easy with two locking levers holding it secure. I am very happy with this and expect it to save lots of marking out time and the neat multifunctional tripod/pole/storage case is cool too.

Very good product, only thing that would make this better is if there was a wall bracket attachment. Very accurate!

Great tool had it for a couple of years now. Drawbacks no magnet like some other brands, there are no part part available. I lost a ferrule and screw, which came loose from one of the (grip levers) Contacted the manufacturers in Germany and they informed me no spares parts was available.Positives the telescopic poles are easy to set up, vertically or as a tripod. A must for tilers and kitchen fitters.

Lasted me well but now have a DeWalt one which is much better!

The crossline laser so suitable for levelling jobs at local farm same as in home building industry. Showed excellent accuracy.

Really not good at all. The laser has so much spill and blur to it you may as well not bother. I found tiling with 3mm spacers impossible.The stand is totally naff and fiddly. By the time you have set it up you'd of finished ten times over with a spirit level etc.Has a good battery life, but thats all.Replaced with the lax50g which is better.

Good bit of kit. It's well made and dose what it's ment to do better than the more expensive options.
