Table Fables: A collection of tables for the weary game master

Completely generic fantasy RPG resource. Plainly written and easy to follow. Excellent time saver if you need to create an off-the-cuff scenario. This is now amongst my Game Master essential tools. Highly recommended for both group and solo role playing.

I am so damn happy I was scrolling through DnD stuff when I was. One look at the description of the book was all I needed.I may not get the chance to play tabletop gaming much anymore, but this perfect collection of tables (As the cover says) is the best thing to help me flesh out my fantasy novel. One scene revolved around one character getting cursed for a few minutes before it's undone, now, instead of me finding something easy to write about, one of your tables and a roll of my dice makes me just as surprised as how to solve the situation as they are.Hell, one page was so cool because it listed tables for every aspect of a kingdom or large city. Now that is what I need to fuel how the world looks.Great stuff with this one. I hope you have all the success this book deserves.Damn good work.

This is a great little book for off the cuff NPC details or those little mundane treasures you need when your players just HAD to pick pocket someone in the market. It even has some really nice character creation tables in it though I did spot one little typo. It said to roll a d4 on a table with 6 choices but easy enough to know it meant a d6. Would highly recommend it to anyone who likes a physical book over using online tables on a phone, tablet or laptop during a game.

Such a little book with so much content. Just started writing my own Role Play book and have used this so much to build my dungeon and land around it. Never be lost for ideas ever again

My husband enjoys playing Dungeons and Dragons with his friends. He even Dungeon Masters from time to time.He is quite lazy so loves this book because it is a quick and easy way to come up with story points on the spot.A very valuable resource

Does what it says on the tin, an excellent little book full of ideas to get your imagination going. I've already used it a number of times to get me starting on writing new quests, and it's been really useful in giving a good starting point when you're blank on new ideas. I don't tend to roll much for random ones, just pick and choose something I find interesting or fitting. I'll be getting the others when I can!

Every had that moment? Then this is the book for you! Never for something vital just when I need an extra detail. Have used this with my DnD group every so often, just when I wanted to add a little colour to some random details or for a random magic effect. Very witty and very useful, would recommend!

I'm very happy with this buy. I have used many many tools for world building and on the fly random generation, but the creativity and ease of these two books (Table Fables II as well) are astounding. For such small books they have so much worth!

Amazing tool for RPGs, both Classic or soloist... buy It!

Really awesome book.The tables are super handy and the info is super imaginative.I really liked the drawings too. I use the book all the time to flesh out events, treasures and NPCs.The only drawback is that my players now always expect imaginayive food in every tavern.

I love both of the Table Fables books! Tables for everything, whether you're a player trying to come up with a character or a GM trying to create a world/quest/encounter. And so many clever tables that will fit into any Fantasy RPG system, not just D&D! Even if you're already a great campaign/quest writer, these books are great for inspiration and so much fun to use.

An excellent product. I've only had this a few days and have used it countless times. One of my new favorite activities now is just creating random characters using the charts at the front of the book. It's simple and easy, and it helps me create some interesting characters in a relatively short period of time. They really put a lot of thought into this book. The other sections are just well thought-out and interesting. It really helps me brainstorm the things I often forget to, the mundane things that help flesh out the world and make it seem more complete and lively. Mundane items, food items, pocket filler, you name it. Normally I would just ignore these things and just try to make things up on the spot. However, being able to look in this book and just quickly come up with some plausible items is a real time-saver and really adds depth to your game play. Each of the entries for these tables is unique and plausible at the same time.I only have a few complaints. The tavern generation tables are a bit sparse and could use a lot of extra detail. It's a great start, and it's good for when you just need to briefly come up with a random Tavern, but I feel just feel like there's a lot missing there and it didn't quite live up to some of the other tables. Same with the Nicknames/title generation tables. However, I still haven't read the follow-up to this book, so a lot of my complaints might be resolved by that one. You can bet that I'm going to buy that one asap given the quality of this book.
