Our second mirror unit
People purchasing one of these units take note of second edit Note below when installing :)First purchased one of these light mirrors about five years ago identical to this one, paid about £80 from BQMust add it is not the same make. Or if it is this one is better. The light starter is better it does not flicker first and generally the overall finish is better quality. Although several internal components are identical to first one.The original is still working (So why replace) The mirror edges of my old unit had started to look rusty and the silver back was peeling at the edge also a spot of rust had formed next to the light strip from the steel angle, silicone glued to the mirror back showing through on to the mirror face. This time after fixing up the new backing unit. I have silicon sealed round the back outside edge of the mirror glass also to the inside edge of the angle glued to the glass and the holes in the angle to try and keep out any moisture which may extend the mirror life. This is just a precaution as stated this unit looks to be better quality but even at £52 it is still expensive if you have to replace every five yearsadded a picture of inside, note the wall mounts was half inch difference from first mirror so was easier to re-drill unit than wall hence left hand mounting screws not in center holes.Nice unit works well just hope it lasts a bit longer than first one !Picture of finished job with lights lit.Edit:- Date 21/03/2014unit installed from over one year now: all working perfect, shaver/re-charger point used daily. No rust or flaking on mirror edge.Second edit:- Date 21/11/2014Pull switch on Light broke this morning, may have been someone being heavy handed, on close inspection the micro side pull switch fitted in this unit is not exactly robust.Do not despair! DO NOT THROW THE UNIT AWAY! if this happens just type into Amazon " micro side pull switch" and you will find one that is compatible rated at 2A if not type the same into your web browser and you will find a couple of sites that sell these switches very cheap!NOTE:- To prevent the new micro switch from being broken by pulling too hard on the cord simply fit a small (cloths)button on the cord inside the unit so that it pulls flat onto the base before to much pressure is applied to the lever on the switch! Also will take this opportunity I now have several brown rust marks along the bottom edge of the mirror not yet 2 years:installedEDIT:-Date 12/08/2016Everything still working; rust marks have become a little worse, but as yet not too unsightly. Looks like it is going to last about as long as the first mirror 5 years approximately Photo added of rust marks on bottom of mirror at 3 years installed (approx).

Nice and bright bathroom mirror
Already had similar bathroom mirror with light and shaver socket in ensuite so order to install in the main bathroom. Got a qualified electrician to install whilst doing some other jobs around the house and he had no issues. Mirror uses larger than expected fluorescent tubes, although one had already gone on delivery.Nice size mirror for shaving or styling hair and plenty bright enough using the pull chord to turn on/off the dual lights. Two sockets on the side, one European volts I guess at the bottom left and UK 220 volts just above. Never used the socket for shaving but works a treat for charging Oral B toothbrush. Both sockets are independent from the main mirror light.I guess long term these will no longer be available with LED versions replacing them, but at least I can change the tube when the light goes.

Nice even lighting and a toothbrush\shaver charger to boot!
Well this was far easier to install than I expected. Bear in mind you need a power supply cable already in place. As I was replacing a older LED mirror that had lost the silvering due to bathroom condensation ingress the cable was already in place so it was just a case of new drilled holes, cavity rawlplugs and "the jobs a good one."A big plus is that the T8 tubes are not so bright your pupils contract under the light loading, meaning a good even light spread over your visage. As others have suggested the light switch *may* be the weak point if subjected to unsympathetic tugs on the on/off rope but once you are ware of this it works just fine. One final point is that as this is a bathrrom mirror I fully expect the silvering to flake off due to inevitable condensation but the last unrelated product lasted some years and I expect this one to as well. And finally, we now have the toothbrush charger finally connected and ready to use and charged in the room we need to use it in!

exactly what I need
This shaver mirror meets my specific requirements. I need a shaver socket to charge my electric toothbrush and had a limited space in my en-suit bathroom with such a configuration that I needed left sided socket. The mirror is relatively easy to install (I have done it myself) and depending on your wall, you can do it with just 2 screwdrivers. The main difficulty is to get the electric cables coming out of the wall in the middle of the site for the mirror. After that, it is a matter of fitting 4 screws, pulling the wires through the middle hole, connecting the wires (a small electric screwdriver) and then attaching the mirror itself. The mirror is then secured with 4 screws.Job done!See my pictures.I didn't rate it 5 stars because the base is covered with white lacquer and not stainless steel or brushed aluminium that I would prefer.

good product .. great value
Have had this installed in my bathroom for a little more than a year now .. The light is bright enough for the whole bathroom .. I find it kind of overpowering and in the eyes when using the mirror with the lights on ..The design is ok. its not slim. But the shaver sockets on the side have proven to be extremely useful ..End of the day this is probably the cheapest mirror with lights I found .. For this price I must admit this is a great product ..I'm seeing small signs of rust around the bottom edge .. Hopefully a small lick of paint should stop it from spreading ..

Tricky to install
Had to do this alone and have little experience with electrical stuff. The shaver socket was loose and pushed in when I tried to plug my toothbrush charger in. Looks smart and is a good mirror and light
