Packaging issues appear to be fixed
I ordered this leg system from Amazon and it arrived promptly delivered by UPS. The packaging has been reinforced and both boxes were delivered without damage either to the packaging or to the contents. The quality of the powder coating was pretty good. There were only a few minor spots that weren't coated and these were in the welds. As others have commented some of the flanges are not straight. However, I don't think this is a handling problem. I think this results from welding flat plates to the stiff leg braces. The heat of welding distorts the flanges. They are easily straightened when the bolts are tightened. The only issues that I had were that the plates on the bottom of the legs where the nuts are welded for the adjustable feet are not square. A 4# mallet took care of this. One of the nuts welded into the leg was distorted (probably from the welding) and I had to run a tap through it to get the bolt installed. Other than that this is a very sturdy leg setup and you couldn't possibly reproduce it for anywhere near the price that it is being sold for. I laid up a 33" x 66" 8/4 Mahogany top and intend to use this table for my patio pizza oven

No, they haven't fixed their packaging issues
The product itself is well engineered, sturdy, and performs well. Assembly is easy, the top and shelf are simple to add (I used 3/4 ply for the shelf with a double layer of 3/4 for the top) and the leveling feet are a nice touch. The unit had several bent flanges that caused it to be out of true when first assembled, but it was easy to correct by forcing it into position with the top.However....Their packaging is catastrophically flawed as many other reviewers have mentioned. I took a chance on it based on feedback from the manufacturer claiming they had addressed the problem. I can report that they have not been successful. Both boxes arrived damaged, with the larger of the two missing several inches of cardboard from one end. The delivery person thoughtfully left the piece of masonite that the manufacturer had used to reinforce the box end on top of the remains of the shipment.A lone bolt and lock washer rattled around in the bottom of one of the boxes - the only indication that the package had originally contained the assembly hardware. I'm guessing the remainder are scattered through UPS's delivery facilities between here and Seattle. Luckily they did include an exploded diagram and hardware list so I was able to buy the appropriate replacement bolts and washers. I have no doubt the vendor would have replaced them - other reviewers have mentioned that they are responsive - but I opted to skip it so I could get the bench up and in place quickly.Luckily the legs and braces survived. A few flanges were bent, but the finish was in reasonable condition.I'm torn on scoring the product as a three star. The package is not the product, and the unit itself is well made. However, reviews reporting packaging failures date back well over 7 years at this point.Short version: It's a good workbench system - just be ready and willing to do some repairs and/or returns to the vendor if it arrives on your doorstep in a torn pile.

Very sturdy leg set
The legs and shelf came in 2 packages, each wrapped separately with plastic bands. That made them easy to carry. The carrier had taken good care of it so I had no problem handling them. The nothing was bent and the paint on them was good. Everything went together easily. I made my own workbench surface from MDF and plywood and used 2 2x8's as rails spanning the leg posts to give more support between the legs. The tops of the legs are not shown in the picture but each leg has a square piece of metal with 4 holes welded to the top of the leg to attach the workbench top. If you use something thinner than 2" as a workbench top, you will need to provide your own support between the legs. The lower shelf has metal rails provided and is offset to allow the bottom shelf to be inserted easily. This is a very sturdy set of legs. I am happy with it.

Packaging is terrible, poor quality item
When I got home today, I confronted a pile of torn up cardboard and pieces of scratched up metal on my front porch. I can't even begin to imagine how the delivery person got the pieces from the truck to my porch, he (she?) must have taken at least three trips with all the loose pieces. Funny thing is that the delivery person had placed two of the screws that had fallen out of the packaging (if you can call it that) on top of the mess that was supposed to be my delivery. It was actually kind of funny to see it.I called Amazon and they placed a replacement order for me and scheduled a pick-up as I wasn't planning on taking this mess to UPS (Amazon's service is absolutely awesome).I can't believe after so many bad reviews and returns this company continues to package their items this way - which by the way, is a single layer of carton with no additional protection or stuffing in it (the pieces of metal weight over 70 lb.) With this packaging, it is virtually impossible to ship this thing without the metal bits and pieces piercing the packaging and getting exposed.Update: I received the new shipment, and while the box was in better shape (still damaged) I only received 1 box out of the two. Called Amazon again and they shipped me another order and it also arrived in bad shape, although all components were in the boxes for both shipments.Since many of the pieces were damaged and rusted, I used all three (or 2.5) shipments and picked the best pieces to make one bench, and no matter how much I tried I couldn't make the bench square. The bench is wobbly because the pieces are not welded square. After having spent 1.5 hours to put it together, now I have to spend time to disassemble, repackage and send it back.If you want sturdy, this bench delivers but otherwise the quality disappoints in every way.

Seems to be a substantial base. Packaging needs upgrading.
Package arrived quickly. Steel posts in cardboard boxes? All the connecter tabs on the rails were bent on arrival.Luckily, the design allows them to self straighten on assembly. Shipping heavy items in today's world requires extreme packaging. People who work for minimum wage are not necessarily strong or smart and they are not provided any loading or unloading equipment. Dropping heavy parcels off the truck is highly likely.
