Perfect for the beginner/intermediate
Its a great controller, perfect for learning the basics before upgrading to more advanced equipment. Fair price too. Don't use the virtual DJ software that is suggested in the packaging too many add ons that try to take your money. Your much better off buying a separate software, i personally got djay Pro as it was simple and easy to use on MacBook.

Software annoyance but great decks
I bought these decks and had a lot of fun on them for a while but after a few months of usage on virtual DJ I get a notification saying I cannot use the full version. The version I now have is poor and lacks vital features, and is hard to use.I appreciate the software is not related to the decks but as virtual DJ is the only software compatible it is very annoying

Useless
Would give it 0 if I could. Absolute crap, didn’t work, and when it did no sound came out from anywhere, even after following troubleshoot instructions. Felt like a piece of plastic and that’s about it tbh. Sent it back, wouldn’t recommend to anyone

Like the hardware, shame about the software.
As a stand alone piece of kit I rate this. It's simple, stylish and functional for bedroom djs and pros alike. However, on reflection, I probably would have gone for the Mixtrack Pro 3 (with sound card) to avoid the extra purchase cost of the djio2 sound card and subsequent extra leads / wires etc. The non pro does come with the virtual dj8 LE but after installing and using the demo version for a limited trial period, you have to purchase a license or subscription fee for access to VDJ8 advanced browser settings, auto mix and related downloads etc. This is a shame as I am not a professional dj and don't earn money from it but enjoy the functionality of learning and playing mainly as a hobby. So if you want to pay for the non basics options of the VDJ8 it's an expensive hobby. As someone who is visually impaired, the Mixtrack is visually excellent in size and backlit easy to navigate controls and function buttons. The layout is simple to navigate and there's nothing there that doesn't have to be there. It's light but structurally robust enough to use it without fear of damage. The kit itself I highly rate.
