One of the nicest Playmobil calendars - but watch prices being charged
This is one of the nicest Playmobil advent calendars I have bought, but I paid £11.99 and I'm astonished at the price hikes that occur with these calendars (& sets) once they are updated or discontinued. Each day your scene grows to a lovely snowy scene in the park, the best bit being an actual playing (albeit tinny electronic sounding) electronic 'organ' , which plays a couple of popular carols. The pieces are lovely and can be played with, with other Playmobil sets once Christmas is over. I bought it at a bargain price and in a review I can only praise the content - my children loved it. However, do watch the prices people are charging as some are ridiculous! My advice is to seek out the current ones as they will be a much more reasonable price - and probably just as good!

Wonderful-A change from chocolate and lasts much longer
yes they will still get a chocolate advent calendar, but this will be special they can build up a scene! I was so excited to make up the boxes while the boys were in bed sleeping.. put different parts of it in different boxes so each day they get a part of the snow scene and can make up a better story than yesterday... i hope they will like it.. i certainly will, and they love their playmobil anyway. (i guess they may be slightly less excited at the box with the three birds in it than the one with the santa in, but there's nothing wrong with that!) Can't wait for 1st Dec!

Poor quality control
I love Playmobil overall, however very disappointed when I built this for my Son on 30th November to find there was no box number 8 in the pack!!!!! That is an obvious quality control check surely? These aren't cheap item s :(

Loads of the things are really tiny and some were quite uninteresting. Children seem to like it though

CHRISTMAS FUN
MY DAUGHTER LOVED THIS ADVENT CALENDER. EVERY MORNING OPENING EACH DAYS BOX WAS THE FIRST THING SHE DID. THE CALENDER COMES FLAT PACK AND YOU HAVE TO PUT THE BOXES TOGETHER AND PUT ALL THE PLAYMOBIL PIECES IN WHICH TAKES ABOUT 30 MINUTES. MY FRIEND GOT HER CHILDREN TO DO THIS THEMSELVES BUT I WANTED TO KEEP THE ELEMENT OF SURPRISE . MY DAUGHTER IS 7 AND SHE LOVED IT. SHE PUT ALL THE PIECES BACK IN THE RIGHT BOXES FOR NEXT YEAR. I KNOW IT WONT HAVE THE SAME THRILL BUT I THINK SHE WILL STILL ENJOY THIS FOR A FEW MORE YEARS TO COME. WELL WORTH THE MONEY.

Too much work
I'm used to the Lego advent calendars that come "ready for use", so I was disappointed to find out first that the box this comes in lists all the toys for each day on the back and second that you actually have to assemble the whole thing. I bought this as a joke for my girlfriend so I wasn't really planning on spending a good couple of hours to put it together. It comes with a big cardboard display that you're supposed to nail to a wall or something and then lots of boxes of different sizes, one for each day, that you're supposed to put in the display. Then you're supposed to separate the toys as instructed and put in the boxes in the display. There's another display for you to asemble the toys as the days go along and you get them out of the boxes, so you're supposed to put that together too.Too fidly, too much hassle. The good thing is that the toys are big Playmobil toys and are quite nice. Would've been 5 stars for fun if it came ready to use.

Christmas starts on 1st December
If your children are in to Playmobil, this will get Christmas off to a flying start. Our children absolutely loved this Advent calendar last year. They literally leapt out of bed each morning to get downstairs to open the next box. This set contains 24 separate pieces of Playmobil, which combines to create a great winter tableau.Well worth the money, and in our house the children are already looking forward to it being brought out again this year. One word of warning for parents though - you need to make up the Playmobil yourself, and pack it into the boxes and set up the Advent calendar - takes about an hour.
