Beautiful and long-lasting
These kitchen towels, and others like them, are the best I have ever found. The majority of tea towels are inexpensive and look it. I prefer to purchase something that is not only functional but very attractive.

Stunningly gorgeous and practical kitchen towels!
These may not really be the best towels in the whole world. But I think they are!A legendary mill in France makes them out of a cotton so unusual it feels like linen, dries like a dream, washes beautifully and irons to a crisp perfection that equals that of the day they first arrived. The color is brilliant and woven in, not painted on. These towels are up to some serious work -- they dry cooking utensils put away as we go along, suffer sauces and vegetables splashed all over them, wipe up spills, serve as potholders when moving hot pans and baking dishes, and strain pasta or delicately wipe drips off dinner plates from the plating before they're taken to the table. A simple wash and machine dry will remove all the appalling mess and make them fresh as new, as food and stains seemingly release magically. If stains ever do persist, I don't know it, because I have literally never seen any -- not beets, not tomato sauce, nothing (although I do usually buy ones with lots of reds and deep purples in them; these gorgeous green ones here must have been an aberration, a sort of spring hopefulness on my part!). Whether you iron them or not, they'll continue to perform beautifully, wash after wash. I keep at least a dozen on active duty, on the theory that I could easily have three or four in the laundry waiting to be cleaned, four in active use, and four fresh ones on hand in case I spill enough that an extra towel or two are out of action and need to be immediately replaced in the kitchen. While they're working this hard, they feel great in the hands, and they look great. They're a very well known brand, and their sturdy elegance and woven block designs are distinctive. Someone who really knows their linens will walk into your kitchen, spot one of these, and raise an eyebrow in surprised appreciation that you really know your kitchen goods. Wrapping up a dozen rolls in a clean one of these to take to a party or a shut-in will help you enter your destination in style. But the recipients, who may not realize it's a special towel, will at least decide they love how it works and may not be too swift at returning it to you. So better have more than that dozen active ones so that you can replace those that may travel and never come home. Or, in a pinch, use ironed ones as oversized napkins for a special picnic or as charming placemats for a grand dinner -- you'll be surprised how glamorous and professional they look. It's all in the way the cotton is milled and woven, which brings us back to the mill in France, named Garnier Thiebaut. I won't buy any other dish towel. I consider the scandalous price I pay for them as evidence of my passion for beauty and functionality, and I scrimp elsewhere to save enough money to keep them in my kitchen.Try one or two, if you find a color or pattern you rather like, and don't be surprised if, after a few days of hard use, you suddenly decide a dozen or so more can fit into your budget after all. They're just that good. I don't care who makes them, nor do I care how impressive they may be to others. I just want to know where to drop an unconscionable amount of money for new towels of the same incomparable construction whenever I need more! These are an incredibly find, and their source is irreplaceable as far as I know. And, unlike many kitchen towels of non-absorbent material sold to showcase their painted designs or splashy colors, these towels are workhorses and really do dry the dishes!
