Freenove is great and this kit was fun. The Support is great for a learning platform which this thing is.

It works great as it should. Flashed it with ESP home tied to Home Assistant and was able to stream video with minimal configuration. Having USB-C is also really nice. They have great documentation as well. I have a couple other products from freenove and am happy with them as well

This FREENOVE ESP32-S3-WROOM CAM Board is a well designed micro computer with a camera attachment. Included with this is an installation package that you download. Included are e-book tutorials of programming the ESP32 computer with the first written with 352 pages of instructions and example code in MicroPython and the second written with 136 pages of instructions and code in C language. As a learning tool to gain skill in each of these languages and have fun with the included projects, this is a great way to start. I have programmed using many different microprocessors where the only support was a data sheet if it could be found. This is very different. One thing I would suggest is to spend a small amount more to get the same board in a development kit which includes a prototyping flex plug assembly that will interface the ESP32-S3 board to a standard component plug board. This ESP32-S3 micro computer has a 40 pin package with a width of 1 inch which presents a challenge when prototyping. I will be buying that development kit next. I bought this for the camera, the ESP32-S3 and MicroPython and got much more. Great value.

I like Freenove item sets and their tutorials, always educational and foolproof. I was looking for this to be an IP camera, but the signal and video is not met expectation, especially the camera sensor, way off from being a useable camera. However, the board (esp32s3) is very attractive to own, I know this set is meant for education purpose. Definitely would recommend for gift purpose, but not something to be programed as a security camera.

Do not get this if you are trying to learn. The tutorials are out dated. The camera system just dose not work.The tech support will answer your email questions. One day later. And the last one told me to make changes to the Arduino IDE so the compile would ignore the errors, and then download. Well guess what? It will download, but with errors for some reason it want work.

A good chip set for the price. Please know it is not Arduino, but ESP32. Please read the difference between ordering, because I had no idea. I love this much more than Arduino (all of them)! It has built in WiFI capability.

Am VERY pleased with this device.Example code all works :-) and IS educational.Had the opportunity to test out their support for the breakout board (not this item, no issues with it) which had a very minor issue, probably only me :-), The response time was QUICK and the resolution fixed the problem for me. HappyDance :-).Yes, I am pleased and will acquire a few more and probably get their Ultimate Starter Kit as well (2 is 1 and one is none, :-)). Also comes with a number of useful items and I am sure any examples will be as robust as the ones with this item.And I may have talked a tekkie friend into joining the club :-).Thanks Freenove!

Frustrating - camera capture to SD Card works great. WiFi server on it's own works great. When they are combined the performance of the web server is severely degraded and I cannot figure out why?Sketch_07.1_CameraWebServer example in tutorial is slow and at times not responsive. Pinging the server times out often. I have no problems with other WiFi projects I have built with other boards. Want this to work since it's such a nice package!!
