An excellent and easy to follow book full of cute patterns!
If you’re looking to get into felt sewing or are just looking for some cute patterns, this is the book for you! Inside you will find several adorable patterns that are simple and easy to follow. I got into sewing last year, so I knew I had to check out this book when I saw it. The tools and materials section is pretty straight forward, but I was excited to learn about using tape to secure patterns to the felt for cutting purposes. I’ve been pinning my patterns to the felt, but using tape is going to be a total game changer! The hand sewing section includes some basic yet essential stitches, and also has a few tips and trips along the way. I like that it includes a tip on splitting the thread because it’s not something I’ve seen in some of the patterns I’ve used from other creators, though I do split the thread the way I do for other crafts. It’s an excellent tip for people who are just getting started that aren’t coming over from other crafts that use some of the same materials.I’m excited to say that the patterns are just as cute as they appear on the cover. Inside, all readers will find patterns for animals, dolls, things that go with the animals and dolls such as a Mushroom house and a dog bed, and a few cute and whimsical designs such as mushrooms and a tree stump house. All of the patterns are easy to follow and include great pictures alongside the instructions as well as tips and tricks. I think this is a great book that’s good to have on hand for anyone getting into felt sewing.

Packed full of super cute felt creations and patterns!
This book is wonderful for beginners. My daughter is a pre teen and she is LOVING this book. She saw the adorable creations on the cover and was hooked before she even opened the cover. She loves arts, crafts, and any kind of DIY. This is her first time working with felt in this way. The book was too advanced for my younger sons. They enjoyed looking at the pictures but it was still too intricate for them to tackle at their age.Unlike many other "how to" books, this one is actually quite easy to follow and understand. The author doesn't expect you to already come prepared with an arsenal of knowledge. So, even if you know very little about sewing, I think you should still be able to tackle the projects in this book with some practice. You get tips on basic sewing techniques, LOTS of full color pictures, and patterns! There are many adorable things that you can create and I love that they all kind of tie together - mushrooms, dolls, mushroom dollhouse, dog, cat, tree stump house, etc. All of them are.... you guessed it.... SUPER CUTE! Add some wings to some of the dolls and you could create your own little fairy garden!Definitely a great find for beginners and would make a wonderful gift paired with some felt and other basic sewing supplies!

Great for Beginners! Goes over basics needed as well as basic sewing skills
This is a great book for beginning felt crafters. The miniatures are mini, for sure, but you can always photocopy and resize the patterns in the back to make them extra tiny or as large as you want to!The step-by-step directions are very easy to follow. There are written instructions with pictures for each step. The beginning is a primer on basic sewing skills and lets you know what you need to get started (which isn't much, and it's all inexpensive items... it's nice finding crafting hobbies that are inexpensive!). The most expensive thing you need is something to stuff your creations with, but if you knit or crochet or sew already, you may have polyfill in your craft arsenal (or yarn ends!). You could also use old pillows or very cheap new pillows and use the stuffing inside there to get started (note on old pillows, you really have to pull it apart and fluff them to get it to work well... used stuffing doesn't always work right, but these are so tiny, it's fine).I haven't made everything, so I can't say for sure that everything is perfect and easily understandable, but I have made a project and read through everything, and I have had zero issues (and everything makes sense).

tiny!
The book is about making super tiny creatures and houses for them out of felt. There is a list of materials and techniques at the beginning of the book, and all the patterns are printed at the end of the book for you to copy and cut out - they are full size and you do not need to enlarge, unless you want to.The creatures are adorable. The author gives a bunch of different ideas on how to make eyes (either tiny safety eyes, or beads or simply embroider them) You will need is felt and thread or embroidery floss to match or to decorate. The author forgot to mention in the list of supplies that she also uses pipe cleaners to stuff the limbs of the dolls so you could pose them.Everything is explained well with step by step clear photos and descriptions. The projects are easy. Along with animals and dolls, there are dollhouses and a dog house. They are so cute.

Not impressed
It’s okay. Not impressed with content. Seems dated.
