The Callisto Protocol Standard Edition - Xbox Series X

I had some issues with the reflex mechanic of the controls, but overall I really enjoyed the atmosphere and the gameplay despite my problem. I can understand why some of the parts of the game were extra challenging. They did an amazing job and I was kind of hoping it would turn into a trilogy and have more details about this setting they created.

The game is not without its faults but I had fun. The graphics and atmosphere are well done here. The combat could use a little tlc and the story was a bit thin but serviceable enough. We get some gunplay here but just keep in mind that this is more of a melee game.

Very nicely done horror game. The fight system is different and cool.

Just as I hoped. Fun and exciting

I played this on normal then went to easy to upgrade further and was going to play on hard afterwards but the New Game + is pretty cheasy. Because easy was my last completion I can only start on Normal again, so best bet is to start at easy, then normal then hard and whatever is after that. I beat it twice but it was enough. It wasn't engaging or tactical enough to continue to play through. Just upgrading the weapons wasn't worth it. It is graphically beautiful and very brutal melee combat but on even on normal mode I wanted to throw my controller through the TV because of the difficulty. The fighting and camera angles can be very clunky especially when you are being ambushed by multiple enemies. Running is non existent as the enemies will stagger you as you try to run. The combat is the most frustrating part of the game. The story is ok, people say it's a prequel to Dead Space, I don't really feel that way but it's similar in a lot of ways. Still an enjoyable game to play.

Hard game. Died a lot. They should make games easier as option. Loved it graphically

Beautiful graphics especially if you have a oled, if you use hdr you have to change the brightness settings in game or else the blacks look washed out and grey. I enjoy the melee combat and currently playing on max difficulty. Only thing I would change is get rid of block and replace with dodge backwards, also being able to dodge left and right while not in combat to dodge spitters. That and add a proper manual save. I’m aware that at launch it was in a rough state, but my experience i have zero issues and overall a great game.

This game has been great so far. I'm on chapter 5 and I'm getting so nostalgic for the games that inspired this. The story has been really interesting and engaging - The game is super challenging and NEVER holds your hand. You will be left figuring out how to do so many things, and you're only ever told where to go - not how to go there. This is true survival horror.Lots of unique set pieces, enemies, characters (both good and bad). I love it and I can't wait to play it more.
