Does what most of the others can't
It's twice the price of the others but the others don't clear half the codes. This one cleared all my existing codes. Service codes. Seat belt codes. Good bit of kit

Works with most older cars.
It is relatively easy to set up, it works with my volvo s40 2001 and cleared the srs light. Taken from others here that had the same model it seem to work with most cars before 2008 and struggled. It's very easy to work with.

LAUNCH X431 CRP429C OBD1 OBD2 Scanner
I bought this scanner for my home/diy use following seeing it featured on You Tube - 'Bodgit and Leggitt Garage'. Quick delivery from Amazon, it has all the features referred to in the video, well made and 'does what is says on the tin'. Nice feature is the voltmeter which displays when connected to the vehicle. Initially on switching it on, it had a huge number of updates to its software, which went through without issue. Since then, the scanner has been automatically and regularly updated by the manufacturer since purchase, nice to know 'there's a helping hand there!'One disappointment I experienced, was when I hooked the scanner up to do an automatic brake bleed to my 2011 Renault Megane 1.5 dci; it automatically recognised the vehicle, but it would not carry out the brake bleed stating that the vehicle was 'not equipped' and to 'consult with the Renault diagnostic equipment'- or words to that effect. In fairness, it may well be the case, that this vehicle did not have the capacity for computer commanded brake bleeding, and may not have been a fault with the scanner - but for now, I do not know! The scanner was good in identifying faulty diesel glow plugs on this same car.Although I have not used the scanner extensively, my impression of it is good, and that it will be very useful in the future - but who knows for sure? One point - I enquired with Launch UK headquarters in Plymouth, UK regarding current/latest software versions in the scanner, also about the problem I had experienced with the computer commanded brake bleeding. Launch UK politely advised me that they could not assist me, as they did not sell this particular model of Launch scanners, and I should direct any enquiries to the actual supplier!!!When I recently contacted the suppliers by e-mail via Amazon, regarding software updates (ie if I had the latest/current versions installed etc) they answered my enquiry very quickly, sent images of the scanner and advice, and were really helpful. I believe the replies came from Launch in the USA, but not 100% sure. Whatever, they responded super quickly - good customer service! So, time will tell whether buying this scanner will prove to be worthwhile.

Great bit of kit for a home mechanic
Very easy to use worked on a Peugeot 308 with lots of faults found and fixed the only downside is you have to use a laptop to update

At last, no more being ripped off by main dealers
Purchased after a lot of research and reading reviews, had an issue with an airbag light on the dashboard of my VW, came on the morning I was booked in for a service with the main dealer and they wanted £99 to run a diagnostic check on the vehicle. I asked why so much and was told standard charge as takes an hour to leave the car on the machine and diagnose🤔 and then they would clear the fault, I then asked what if it comes on again and was told another £99 to run another diagnostic check 🤬. After politely refusing 😂 I purchased the Launch CRP123and after reading the instructions, plugged it in , ran diagnostic, found and reset fault, erased fault code and then tested, all now working find and took 10 min to resolve🤔. Bought this model as it will connect and diagnose most makes of vehicle after 1996. Great value, easy to use item and should save me hundreds going forward, and if the fault can’t be reset, I can still tell which part needs replacing or servicing. Would recommend to all 👍 Strange that don’t u think ! Vehicle connects to the main dealer when service is due and I get a message to book it in and airbag light comes on that day, even mentioned it was just over 3 weeks outside it’s approved used VW warranty and has only done 18000 miles but they were not budging on the £99 for the diagnostic on top of the service cost 🤔

CRP429C - Navara D40 owners beware
On the plus side, build quality is good, boot and scan speed are also good, and the potential list of functions and vehicle coverage is large. I say potential for a reason.I purchased the item mainly to recode the injectors on a Navara D40 2011, and reset the service light.Firstly, the auto VIN code function does not work on this vehicle, and when requested you have to type the code in manually twice. No biggy. It found the injectors and popped up the box to enable me to put the new codes in. I wasn't ready at that point as it was late in the day, so I unplugged everything and let the device update itself over the next half hour. Beginning again the next day, the injector app has changed after the update and no longer allowed me to program the new codes. Quite frustrating, but I think there must be a way to roll back the updates, in this case the only option I found was a full factory reset. Following the reset, there were NO apps on the device so everything had to be reinstalled to the latest version... including the injector app which won't let me program the injectors. Fantastic.Maybe it will let me at least reset the service light? Nope... after going through the motions it pops up a manual method to reset the light that does not work on the vehicle.Support? Forget it. Chinese website linking to a telephone number in London that does not exist. For other vehicles it may be fine, and as a general code scanner it works well. If you have a Navara D40 and want to use the other advertised functions, it's about as much use as a chocolate kettle.
