FRESH SPEED4-Inch Backdraft Damper Shutter Inline Spring Loaded for Dryer Duct

Installed above a clean out on my dryer to prevent cold air from entering through the dryer.Good quality, easy to work with. I purchased two as I also installed one on a bathroom fan exhaust.

I have gotten two of these , one for the dryer and another for a bathroom exhaust fan - they fit in the plastic hoses very well. They stop probably 95% of backdraft. Its better than the one that came with my bathroom ventilation fan that wouldn't open up fully and had large gaps around it. This one is great - no mice or bugs can get in.Thanks for an excellent product as long as the spring for the flap doesn't rust out.Would definitely recommend!

I installed a second dryer in the same house. So that would be one dryer in basement and one dryer on main level. I placed a “T” in the existing dryer vent tube ( 4 “ pvc pipe ) to accommodate the second dryer. I discovered that each dryer would back-feed the other while operating. So I put two of these Fresh Speed valves in the vent for each dryer ( put both valves near the “T” fitting, see attached picture ). This solved the back feed issue, with one or both dryers operating. The problem was most evident when one dryer was operating, and subsequently back feeding the dryer that was not operating. Easy fix, and I didn’t have to run a separate vent pipe for the second dryer. 😀I plan on inspecting the Fresh Speed valves in four months to see if they have accumulated any dryer lint. If the accumulation is minimal, then I’ll extend the next inspection to eight months, and so on. The Fresh Speed valves seem to be a quality product, simple construction, and a very effective pneumatic diode. 😀

Fit perfectly into my 4in dryer vent. I hated having cheap plastic flaps in the wall exhaust outside of my house, so I bought a 'cage' version, with no flap. Everything was great until winter arrived. Didn't realize how cold the dryer vent duct would get. I put this damper in and no more cold vent duct. It's a snug fit, and the flaps/springs seem solid. The overall build quality feels really good. We'll see how it does with time

Easy to install. Well built. Bought to install as a backdraft damper on bathroom exhaust near the roof. Springs are too tight initially for the butterfly flaps to open. Was able to manage by pulling on the spring and cutting off nearly half the total length of the spring. This allowed the spring pressure to be much less, allowing the exhaust fan to push the vents open. Overall good product. Will see if any problems in winter and freezing - I live in a place where it gets to -30 celcius.
