They work and my 9 year old loves them
"I love them. They're really good. I made a grass cutter, a digger, and a whirl pool maker." That's the review for these motors from my 9 year old about how he used them to make 'tools' with his LEGO.

Good motor set.
This Muxierr Power Function Motor Set for Lego Technic is great! My kid has been using it to build all sorts of creations, from a fan to a car, and more! It definitely expands what's possible with Technic alone. It took us a bit of trial and error to figure out how all the parts work together, but once we did, we got all the functions, and it was great!I don't find that they use too much battery power, and I'm pleased with the quality!

Battery Hog
I'll be honest, I'm having a bit of trouble fairly reviewing this one. In between the time I ordered it and received it, it was classed as "This item is no longer available" so I gave it to its ultimate recipient, one of the grand kids who is a budding Lego Master. It was then returned to available status, but by then I had lost direct access.Anyway, performance wise, it does seem to live up to the ad copy. A really cool addition to a well equipped Lego table. The only issue that I have with it is the main unit requires 6 AA cells. I haven't seen an option for external power, either. (Again, I don't have direct access.) 6 fresh alkaline cells would have a combined voltage typically between 9.6 and 9.9. (Each cell is 1.65V open circuit, but there are losses so you won't get the full 9.9V in most instances.) NiMH cells only deliver 1.2V fully charged, yielding 7.2V when in a 6 cell battery. A substantial loss in power. That's something that I can't evaluate, either. Or battery life in use.As a Boomer, I grew up with Gilbert's Erector Sets. These were small metal beams and support pieces that you actually used screws and nuts to build things. The late 60s ones that I had used rolled edges and a few other things for safety. I also got a motor for the set for things like winches... battery powered, of course. My Uncle gave me his set, ca. 1940 when I showed interest. Sharp edges, pinch points and a motor that was AC powered, and not through a transformer. You had 115VAC directly going to a metal toy with sharp edges, using regular lamp cord. Horrifying by today's standards. But using modern power supply technology, it still seems that this one could've used some sort of external power safely.Bottom line: Cool, if a bit niche, but a real Battery Hog.

Nice if you are familiar with Lego technics
This is a useful supplement to my Lego set. It does seem to be slightly less quality, but it was easy to use since I have similar pieces from Lego. I would recommend getting these and immediately trying them since some of the other reviews talk about them being DOA. For me they worked nicely, and I recommend overall.

Doesn't seem as robust as Lego brand
My son loves technic and motorization. He has several sets with motors but nothing with a remote control. This set seemed like something he would love in order to expand his creativity. The good:-The pieces all snap together very firmly and stay connected.-The motors both have variable speed and direction with decent torque for turning big wheels and gear trains.-The lights are bright and also have variable brightness.-The remote control is easy to set up and is very responsive. The bad (I've never experienced any of this with Lego brand parts):-The motors smell strongly of ozone after a couple minutes. I've never noticed that smell with Lego brand.-The motors got noticeably warm to the touch when my son was using them in slow mode.-The wires seem very susceptible to crimping and resist being straightened back out.-No directions. The components have many features, some intuitive, others not as intuitive. It would be helpful to have directions that spell them all out.Overall, my son is happy with the set, but I don't get the sense that some of the components will last. We have Lego brand components that have been played hard with for 5 - 30 years that still function as they did when new and never smelled like these or got hot like these. We shall see!

Great add on to any lego collection - easy integration
This set of motors and controller is a great addition to any lego maniac's stash. My son was very excited by the options included, and I was very excited at the price point. Authentic lego motors are expensive and don't offer anything more than this set. Let your child's imagination run free with this collection of accessories!! I know mine did!
