Teach Yourself VISUALLY Adobe Photoshop CS6

Kindle edition is difficult to read
This is a worthwhile book to read along while you practice the different functions of the program. However, it is VERY difficult to see the diagrams as they are so very undersized. Its supposed to be for a visual learner right?I guess the solution is to read it on your computer in the cloud and switch back and forth to the photoshop program.Just be aware that in the kindle edition the visual diagrams are nearly impossible to make out the type. VERY FRUSTRATING!

I Always Love The Teach Yourself Visually Series!
When I upgraded to Adobe CS6 I knew exactly what book I was going to get. Teach Yourself Visually books have been a consistent favorite of mine for many years. They make learning so much easier for me. I had the "Visual' book for CS5 and this one, for CS6, did not disappoint. I have used this series for many subjects and I can't think of buying any other book as my introduction to any subject. I may buy another bought later but my first book is always a "Teach Yourself Visually".Have you upgraded to CS6? Give this book a try and I bet you will be happy that you did!

Good beginner book
I was looking for something akin to a Photoshop 101 class; the basics, explained plainly. Unlike most software, I don't find photoshop intuitive at all, and most online tutorials assume things like you know what a layer is and what it does. Well, I didn't. This was a worthy starter, and readable on a color tablet (android). It covers all the basics, visually. Basically what it says on the tin.

Great Book!
I love this book. It shows you step by step how to do stuff. It shows you where on the computer all the buttons are that are needed to do the task. Best book I ever got for learning photoshop. I would recommend this one for anyone trying to learn PS.

It works more like a reference book.
I cannot say I love it totally. It gives you a list of CS6 tools and you need to know what they do. It serves as a reference book where you can look up how to use them by tool name.

Great Book for Beginners and Novices
One of my goals this year was to learn how to use Photoshop CS6. My first purchase was Scott Kelby's book The Adobe Photoshop CS6 book. I discovered very quickly that this book was not for me. Don't get me wrong. Kelby's book is excellent but it assumes that you already know quite a bit about Photoshop. My husband uses it extensively but he has been playing with Photoshop for years. Through a recommendation of a reviewer on Amazon, I purchased Adobe Photoshop CS6: Teach Yourself Visually. It is the perfect book for someone who is just getting started. I knew it would be good when the first instructions were how to open Photoshop on your computer. The book is well organized. It first helps you to understand the kind of things Photoshop can do. Very quickly I got a good feel for what the tools were and what they could do. Only then did the book begin to show you how to USE the various tools. Instructions are given for both Mac and PC. The book SHOWS you how to do something rather than just telling you. This is a great feature. Sections are short- only two pages in length. Perfect for a quick lesson in something. Just a month after getting this book, I am editing my photos in all kinds of ways. And I feel comfortable doing it. It is true that this book does not teach you everything there is to know about Photoshop. But I don't NEED to know EVERYTHING about it just as I don't know EVERYTHING about my word processor to be able to use it well. The information in this book will keep me going for a long time. So if you are just getting started, I can highly recommend this book. Teach Yourself VISUALLY Adobe Photoshop CS6Teach Yourself VISUALLY Adobe Photoshop CS6

Top Tuition
This is not full detail of everything that is there in photoshop, it takes the essentials, like curves, levels, layers etc and visually explains how each works, giving good examples of slight variations based on questions a reader might pose. It logically lays down the detail, with numbered steps on photographs of photoshop screens and will really get you started but you may need a more detailed photoshop bible to supplement it as you get better. But gets you going
