Excellent upgrade for the very dated stock Mini stereo, but wow, no instruction manual whatsoever, not even downloadable. And Hualingan's own install video has you unnecessarily remove the glove box?!Installed in my 09 S. Went in pretty easily, though two big issues: one, as the product ad says, with the DVD/CD player, for certain models, you'll need to trim the vertical center console. Not an easy task without the right tools, and really, whatever you use, it's probably not going to look all that great when you're done. Did mine while it was still in the car and, to noone's surprise, it made a huge mess, and the edges are, well, meh. A cutting template would have been nice. The DVD player isn't essential for this unit, unlike the factory unit which has all of the power etc run through the CD unit. If you don't plan to use the CD unit (does anyone carry CDs in their car anymore?! you can have mine and I have 10,000+), might make sense to just remove the CD player from the stock stack and put it back in.Other main issue for me is that the stock FM antenna wire is way too short to reach the input on this unit. I had to order an extension.Overall happy with it so far; takes about 30 seconds to start up each time. Sound, even with stock speakers, is a huge upgrade over stock. Screen is nice and bright, and CarPlay works great. Steering wheel controls and gauges worked without doing anything special. I did not hook up a camera, but I'm wondering if this will support a wireless one? Will update my review if I figure that out.

MAKE SURE YOU LOOK AT THE PICTURES OF YOUR CAR AND PRODUCT. The product looks nice installed...HOWEVER other than a short video there is no install manual or user setup manual. I have tried for hours to set up some features on the screen and have just given up. I have a 2010 convertable mini cooper R57 and this product DID NOT match my dashboard. ..but we got it to work.I have sent an email asking for a manual with no response. SO FYI unless you are good and knowledgeable about installation products I would not recommend it. I would imagine paying someone would be costly. You have to take apart most the dashboard. I also purchased a backup camera to use with this product.

This will look great when installed, and the sound from the amp is really good. The LED indicators (fuel level, etc) are too dim though and are hard/nearly impossible to see in daylight when driving. The LCD screen is plastic, scratches very easily, and gets horrible glare so you'll want to put an anti-glare filter on it right away. Other than that, fit is great & installation is relatively easy. Overall, it's a decent replacement if your original unit no longer works, but there are a few areas that could use a little more effort. (LED indicator section, color of button backlights is red rather than amber, etc) Oh, one more thing... make sure you install the little speaker that comes with the unit or you won't have alert chimes or turn signal sounds.

I was annoyed that this didn’t have many reviews but I wanted to chance it after seeing a few posts elsewhere about this company’s quality.This product is fantastic, it replaces the OEM speedo and stereo head unit with something much smarter, making my 2011 feel not as old. It uses the existing gray facade/ring/trim piece, and all I needed to install was a T20 screwdriver and a spudger to remove clipped on pieces. And the digital speedometer seems to be very accurate, unexpectedly.

User manual and installation guide should be included with this product. The videos available on the product page are tremendously inadequate. No explanation of what is in the kit, how to hook it all up and where to mount things. Yes, the device can be made to work and function, and getting there is a really frustrating task. Would not recommend unless improvements are made.

Ordered first unit and the sound stopped working within a week of installation. Performed a factory reset, checked all wires after taking the dash apart again all seemed well yet still no sound so I returned it. Ordered a second unit and the sound returned however within the first day the reverse camera stopped working and bluetooth stopped pairing. I would not recommend this product for an R56 Cooper; very questionable hardware. In the end I returned the second unit and ordered a product from another vendor. On the positive side this was a Prime item so the return was fantastic.

I got this to replace my original radio in the mini. Installation was little tricky and took me about 4 hours, once in place this is great and works as intended. All the functions works as intended and gives me some new teach that was not present in the old.
