Basic Media Player
I bought this media player to play some old files stored on a bunch of external hard drives and for this purpose it works great. It has played all kinds of different file formats with no issues. It has a variety of basic functions such as autoplay, random play, single play which are all accessible via a settings menu.Let’s say you wanted to play a random episode of a tv show. You would select random play from settings and then navigate to the show. You would select the first episode and then press right on the remote which will play the next episode at random. At first I thought there was no fast forward or rewind but you can access these options when playing a video by pressing up or down on the remove.

doesn't work
Doesn't work, the image coming out of the device flickers incessantly thus rendering it useless since no image can be adequately viewed, probably defective, seems cheaply made, have trouble returning it because of my isolated location and constant travelling, I'll just chuck it, won't buy this brand or from this seller again, this is my fourth media player I buy, the others are still in working condition but outdated as far as the type of files they can play, this is the first one to arrive this defective.

Plays videos through an HDMI port on my dumb TV
I simply loaded an SD card with video files and used it with this device to play them on my dumb TV through an HDMI port. The device plays them in order if you wish, and the picture quality is very good.

Works some what ok
The only thing that I noticed is that the voices and movies sometimes are out of sync and that very irritating if you back the movie up a little the they are synced again not sure why it works that way. I have bought two one that handles smaller hard-drives a one that handles larger drives from the same company with the same results. For the price I would not buy another one, my brothers bought one and does the same thing for them also, we bought them at the same time.

Very Satisfied
I mainly wanted a way to play my old WAV files off of a 2 TB usb hard drive. (mp3 suck). I also wanted the media player to work through my hdmi smart switch. My first media player would not work through the switch. I sent it back! The audio quality is very good coming from this player, sounds like the CDs. I had some problems getting video through the hdmi switch at first but the MYPIN customer support immediately and effectively solved my switch problems. Thanks Jaime!! We changed the video resolution from auto to a fixed single resolution in the settings menu.Very Satisfied Customer!!!

One day in, does most of what we want
So far, it does what we want, which is to autoplay one of the videos from the top level folder once power is supplied to it. However, we haven't figured out yet how to have it randomly select a video to play, and then automatically randomly shuffle the videos instead of looping the single video. If this isn't possible, I may knock a star since it will not be ideal for us -- I am curious if the developers have any comments on if this is possible.

Avoid this horribly designed unit
Near impossible to fast forward. The design is completely user unfriendly. Video quality is good. Need a magnifying glass to read the manual.

Very disappointed!
I received this 4 Pin HDMI media player in July, but only open the box and try it today after a month of travelling. There are several issues with this media player:- The system settings can't be saved, it always switch back to default settings after power off/on.- Can't move forward/backward when playing a video- The display zoom too large and not able to adjustThere probably more issues but I give up on this player, and unfortunately, the return period is passed that I can't return it!

Cheapo locked-down android-based TV box, nothing special
For the money, just find an actual Android TV box with a USB port. This is just half-baked, in my opinion. The remote is not half bad, in terms of responsiveness and clicky feeling. But even the remote has some "TV control" buttons on it, that are useless. Because it's not a programmable/universal remote. And there's not even a pause/play, ff/rewind, skip forward/back, or anything you'd expect to see on a media player remote. You have to navigate with the arrow and OK buttons, which just feels tedious and annoying. Although there's a button on the remote to activate a mouse cursor. For some reason...After playing around with it a bit, I can say that it's Android-based. But it's just locked down, which is lame IMO. Even a cheap Android box could play YouTube, or Netflix, or something like that. Not that you need that all the time. And honestly it's a neat idea to have a device that doesn't connect to the internet, and just plays media off a USB drive or SD card. But the execution leaves a lot to be desired. Just the ways you have to navigate the interfaces, the general lack of polish, and the fairly long time it takes to boot whenever you turn it off (about a minute I guess) just leave a bad taste in my mouth, at least. And yeah, it does kind of work. And I was initially really interested in the concept. But after using it for a bit, for $70, you can do a lot better. That's all I'm going to say.

Could not get the various options to work. DO NOT RECCOMEND.
Easy set up and good picture quality. bought unit solely to show photos on my smart TV. The most important function for me was the Random Play function, but it would not work. None of the available options would work. Also the numerous transition options between photos would not work as well.Very Frustrating, returning product for refund.

OK Media Player with Some Issues
Arrived in an unsealed box in good condition.Come with a small user manual, power adaptor, A/V cable, and a remote control. Not included are: HDMI cable and 2 AAA batteries required by the remote control.I tried it out using a 128GB USB stick with MP4 videos, MP3 music, and JPG pictures. I can play them all just fines on my 1080P TV.But there are some issues with this product:1) The random play doesn’t work with any of the files that I tested. Everything just played sequentially when I pressed the next button.2) It has limited internal memory, only 5GB. And the user interface for copying is terrible & tedious: it can only copy 1 item at a time using the remote control, and for that I have to navigate into the folder on my USB stick, select and copy the item, get back out, and navigate into the intended folder (i.e. music, pictures or videos) and paste it. And repeat the same process all over for the next item - very impractical.3) Each time I’m done using it, turned it off and unplugged my USB stick, it became corrupted when I tried to use it with my Windows PC. Fortunately, Windows can fix it.So I’m not impressed with this product.
