Q: What are the dimensions of the actual baskets?

The actual basket is 2 3/4" deep, 13 1/2" long, and 11 1/4" wide. I hope this helps.

Q: Could this with hold a toddler opening and closing (usually not in a gentle manor) ?

I think it would handle rough opening and closing. No problem. But if your toddler tries to pull it downward (such as using it to brace themselves on, or using it to try and climb up), I think their weight might break it off.

Q: Regarding new model: are they now 13 3/4” required minimum depth?

Actually, one has to allow for about an inch for the slide brackets to mount. The bracket adds aprox. 1/2" to front and rear of shelf one would hang it on . Hope I made this clear for you to understand.

Q: What thickness of shelf will these fit on? The front of my shelves are extremely thick and curved.

The shelf upon which mine is attached is 1/4 inch thick. It will accommodate a very thick shelf because it actually just rests on the top in front and back and is adjustable.
