I really enjoyed every moment reading “Stick With It” - what an adventurous life and courageous journey Michael Kollwitz has had in undertaking and mastering this incredible instrument. It is very well written and each well crafted chapter peaked my interest and captured my attention - I just couldn’t put it down. His example of sacrifice, dedication and perseverance is a lesson to all in what level of commitment it takes to realize a dream. Never give up - “Stick With It” is a fit title. I highly recommend this book! It really is a great read!

Stick With It can truly be read and enjoyed by anyone, including non-musicians.Michael Kollwitz is considered by many (including myself) to be an important pillar in the stylistic history and ongoing evolution of the Chapman Stick. In his book, Michael weaves his story with the same skill, joy and passion that he displays in his music.Stick With It is a book of peaks and valleys. A book of challenges, triumphs and humor. It’s a tale of his musical journey and his life along with a few “holy cow!” moments tossed in as well (I’m not giving anything away).I enthusiastically recommend this book because I love sharing wonderful and positive experiences that I’ve had with others. That’s what Michael has created for the world (again): another great experience.

I have been a fan of Michael Kollwitz's music for over 10 years. After reading his life story I am an even bigger fan of Michael as person. I was so impressed with how he shared the obstacles he faced and how he overcame them to become a top recording artist in his genre. A fun and inspiring read. I highly recommend it whether you are a fan of the Chapman Stick or haven't even heard of it.

This is wonderful insightful read. Inspiring, informative and just plain fun and interesting. I have read over 70 plus books over the last two years, and this is in my top ten favorites. I got lost in a good way to the world of the Chapman stick.its direct, incisive and stays on point to michael kollwitz's world and his travels and remarkable journey. So many times books get lost in many different directions, you lose focus, I encountered some reads that were that way, while they were good, you lose interest and get bored. Not so with michael kollwitz stick with it story. its fascinating and without question sublime 👌 you will be illuminated and happy after you read this history of Emmett Chapman's stick . Whole heartedly recommend.

I was attracted to the book because I'm one of the fortunate few to know what a wonderful instrument the Chapman Stick is. However, Michael writes about his adventures with the instrument in such an engaging way that I believe the book will be enjoyed by a much wider audience than fellow Stick players & other musicians. The book is brim full of entertaining anecdotes and stories. In a way it even forms a primer on how to make it as an independent performing musician! I can well imagine picking this up again in a few years for a second read (& later a third?).

Michael is one of those guys who were lucky enough to be one of the first to play the Chapman Stick - any stick player, musician , music innovator should check out this gem
