My car didn’t have a working stereo but did have a factory premium audio which came with an amp. Instead of installing a stereo I decided to keep it simple and just do a stereo delete and use my phone connected directly to the amp with an RCA harness adapter. The setup was working fine but I use an iPhone so I’m limited to only in app EQ on only on two apps. This device is pretty much a physical EQ with knobs to adjust frequency bands.Installation was very easy because I just opened up the single din I had used for the stereo delete and mounted the EQ on it. I borrowed the power, ground and remote from the RCA harness adapter I already had installed. I’m still using my phone but I just connected the RCAs to the EQ then output to the amp.The sound definitely cleaned up compared to the apple dongle I was using, im not sure if the better sound is from a built in DAC or just because of the custom EQ but it sounds much better. The only downside for me was that I also had a Bluetooth dongle that gets power from a cigarette lighter that I was starting to use but the EQ amplified the noise in the power from that source.Overall the EQ seems to work pretty well, it has a separate sub input/output and the frequency bands are set to useable values. I’m not sure I would get this type of EQ if I already had an aftermarket stereo with a sophisticated built in EQ like on most mid tier pioneer stereos but for my setup it’s perfect.

This EQ is pretty easy to install if you know your way around a car stereo's wiring. It works and sounds as good as you would think an $40 EQ should. It would have been nice to have a subwoofer kill switch built in, but it's not a big deal. I'm not trying to win any competitions, so it works for me.

If you have a system where you can't turn it very loud or it doesn't seem like it gets loud enough is equalizer is perfect. It's designed so that you turn your stereo up to the point right before it sounds distorted, and then you don't change your head unit volume anymore from there on you adjust this equalizer's volume from that point on and with that it allows your music to go louder without distorting it to the stereo's limitations. Wiring it is rather simple there's a very good set of instructions and explain everything clearly as long as you have installed stuff like this in the past and are familiar with car audio. If you're not really familiar with car audio this is going to be a daunting task for you just saying. But otherwise this is super cool I've always wanted a graphic equalizer in this one does all of that and some

This TOPSTRONGGEAR TSG7EQ 7-Band Car Audio Graphic Equalizer works as expected. You don't see these much anymore, but it gets the job done and was easy to install.
