Murach's PHP and MySQL (3rd Edition)

I really like the simple-to-follow methods shown here. The table of contents is well written so you can pick a topic and jump right into exactly what you might need - a great reference book!

The book arrived in very good condition, although it was a bit late. However, considering the price, it's acceptable. I'm pleased with how great the book looks.

This is a great book for learning PhP. I've already got their MySQL book, so that part of this book is a bit redundant for my purposes. I've been an IT developer for 25 years, and had resisted learning PhP until recently. The book could be a little clearer in letting you know that when using sessions, nothing is otherwise retained between between form displays. It took me a while to get over that hump.

Truly a Beginner to Pro book. All the topics I needed to learn to get productive fast, and presented in a nice logical sequence. If you need a PHP learning and desk side reference, don't pass on this book. It is one of the better books Murach has in their inventory. Definitely an A+++

I was looking for an easy beginner's book on PHP and MySQL since I already have ASP and T-SQL and Oracle SQL experience. So far, the book has been a breeze. Thank you.

Although some prerequisite knowledge is required for HTML and CSS, PHP and MySQL is an excellent reference for individuals desiring to expand their skills in these areas.

For me this is by far the best book I've read so far, throws you in the deep end quickly and explains things so well! Would highly recommend it to anyone learning php, it's greatly speeding up my knowledge! Thank you for all the effort that been put into this book!

You learn php from the beginning, in very precise steps that are the building blocks, which eventually makesense of the whole PHP topic. The book is put together for the student rather than most books on the topicfrom the tutors point of view.Great achievement to have put this wonderful course in book form together, which is the best I have boughton the subject.

This is a great reference for beginners like me, and I heard that this is also a great refresher for people who forgot how to code PHP.This book helps a lot because the explanations are detailed. I read the topics that I didn’t understand in class and when I did, I finally understood how it works.I do recommend this book not just for beginners but also for those who are experienced.

I would not recommend this book. I would give 0 (zero) if I could. It is very hard to follow and understand the book. I am not sure what the problem, either the structure of the book or more "text", fewer diagrams, or the style? Or maybe knowing and teaching are two different things? I honestly do not know what it is. I never felt like this with any book I purchased in my life. If I already did not know PHP and MySQL, I would be lost. In addition, the examples are not good at all. I am sure there are much better and more realistic scenarios out there. The examples are almost as bad as the Foo-Bar ones you can find in your online google search.
