I have done most of my own piercing myself, (disclaimer: I am not a professional piercer) previously i was using the 16g piercing needles, i thought using this needle would make it easier to pull the jewelry through the plastic tube. After a couple of new piercings on myself i concluded this needle does not make it any easier than using the regular needle which is cheaper. I would no use this for self piercing, i don't know if it make any difference when piercing others.
