Overall, I really like this light and it's easy to get it out of the way when not in use, but the magnifying glass doesn't magnify enough to be of much use at all. If I bought another one, I would get one with higher magnification.

I'm often working on electronics projects of one sort or another and have a stereo microscope to handle the really intricate stuff, but for the larger stuff, the microscope wouldn't work yet I still needed to see pretty fine detail to make sure things fit, etc. I couldn't use a regular magnifying lens because that would require an extra hand, and the ceiling light wasn't illuminating it well enough anyway.This lamp/magnifier was just what I needed. I can position it over my work and it stays where I put it, plus it delivers light directly on what I'm working on and provides just the right magnification for small work. I was afraid of getting one because online quality can be all over the place, but I think I lucked out. This one seems really well built, the magnifier is large and clear, the light intensity is adjustable. It has a cover over the magnifying lens - and I'm not sure what that's there for -but it opens easily, so I don't care. The thing is just what I was hoping for.

Lens is clear with with little or no distorsion. Great for close up work

Great value for your dollar. Light brightness is adjustable and it pivots to any position I need it to. Great light!

Update:Just noticed some minor scratches and marks on the magnifying glass. Cleaned it with some IPA just to make sure it wasn't dust or lint on both sides.Original:Just what I needed, a super bright work lamp for my desk. It's quite sturdy and holds its position well so far. The handle helps in the maneuvering of the lamp, and I do like how you can control the brightness by using a know as opposed to a switch, like how some other similar products do. Minor concern though thats easy to remedy at home, is that I would have preferred it if the metal piece that clamps down on your table had a little plastic bumper or something to prevent scratching. I just had some cotton pads laying around so I uses that, but again, just a minor concern. Would be a very appreciative thing to add though for future customers in my opinion.

Light was smaller than expected. Ligh itself is very bright with full range of light with the dimmer knob. However even the slightest movement requires at least 1 maybe 2 knobs to be re tightened, as there is no friction forgiveness. It’s either locked down or flopping loose

Purchased in March, used at least 3 days a week, and today the electricity cord frayed completely in two and broke close to the lamp head. Too short to repair. Worked for two months.
