Hands down the best single introduction to modern Pagan beliefs I've read
Hands down the best single introduction to modern Pagan beliefs I've read. There are a few quibbles. For one, "Maiden Mother Crone" is Robert Gravesian hooey, but there are very few such "Wiccaisms", and little things like that are outweighed by all the meaty goodness. Grab one while you can, and you'll always have this to hand to people trying to understand where you're coming from.

little but powerful!
This is a superb little book, not just well written but thoughtful and 'feeling'. Okay, I'm gonna come right out and say it, magickal! I normally don't buy 'new agey' shaman type books, but the illustration on the cover drew me - and I have to say, the pictures inside are every bit as good! Lovingly written, heartfelt, informative and beautifully drawn, this very special book now sits next to the only other 'shamanic' book I own, by Gordon the Toad, with whom it has a lot in common. I feel I have to point out one mistake though - when writing about the three celtic/druidic realms: abred, gwynfed and Ceugant, the author mistakenly refers to abred as 'annwn' which is somewhat different. Nonetheless, this little book is a keeper!

A neat little intro
One of a series, this is a well-bound, neat little introductory book that measures 15.5 cm x 12.5 cm. The shiny silver coloured title mischievously glints in the change of light on the front cover, giving an iridescent effect. In between an introduction and a 3-page appendix are 27 double-page topics, each with at least a full-page black & white illustration.~ Nature Spirits: Wyrd Lore and Wild Fey MagicFrom the back cover (image below refers):🌳 ‘Shhhhhhh...~ Can you hear the ancient dryad wisdom of trees?~ Do you know how to calm the spirits of storm and wave?~ Can you see the elusive and intelligent souls of trees, stones, rivers and clouds subtly infusing the world with magic, wonder and meaning?Do you want to know more?In this beautiful book, illustrated throughout by faerie artist, Dan Goodfellow, Celtic shaman Danu Forest reveals how to communicate with wild nature spirits for mutual benefit, working with air, fire and water to grow in harmony with nature, in all its magical splendour.’Based on that...who could resist further...and the fact that the publishing company is based in Glastonbury ~ ‘an English town steeped in myths and legends’?
