Made the job a breeze
This was the first time changing a chain so was cautious especially after reading the reviews. After completing the job with absolute ease on a 520 chain I can only assume those who damaged the tool did so through user error. I could see clearly at a couple of points where the tool could get damaged if used incorrectly. Especially if you don't grind the rivet head off first on the old chain before pushing the pin out or applying too much pressure when riveting the new chain on. My new chain after installing was way too slack and I hadn't realised so now I have to repeat the process and drop a link. But this tool I can see will do the job and for as long as its needed. Highly recommend watching some videos of it being used on YouTube for the correct way to use it

Decent quality but take your time.
Looks decent quality and great value. Good enough for the home mechanic at least. A bit of a fiddle to use but that's the nature of the job. The online tutorial is excellent and a must watch before you use this tool. Worked great on my Transalp. Slow and steady does the trick. If you try to be clever and rush you WIll mess it up or break the tool.

Does not work , waist off money !
Rubbish, I have 40 years experience as a mechanic, this tool is not strong enough to rivet motorcycle chains and could be dangerous in the wrong hands

Worked well
I was a bit apprehensive at first to buy this product as a read a few bad reviews however the tool worked well at breaking the 525 chain of my 600cc. I read the instructions which were easy to understand and ground the head off of the link first. I've only used it for a day so I can't speak for it's continued durability but during it's use of removing one rivet and punching two from my after-market tsubaki chain it has performed well, felt sturdy in my hand and has not shown any fractures or deforming.

Disappointing Riveting Tool - completely failed to rivet chain - broke on first use
Rubbish - It broke when attempting to rivet the first chain - (DID 530VX) the tool was supposed to flare (widen) the rivets on the chain - the chain stayed resolutely un riveted, and the soft riveting tool was deformed instead (it fitted into the unmarked rivet!!!), Then the casting sheared while vainly attempting to flare the rivets (only found out the soft end of the riveting tool had been deformed after it broke). If I could give it a minus 5 stars I would. Don't waste your money. The only positive out of the experience was that Amazon refunded what I paid for it but I wasted a whole week, and paid another £7 for a new link to replace the one that the Sealey VS779 chewed - The new link went on with no issues using the correct DID riveting tool (KM500R), This tool may be cheap, but it doesn't represent any kind of value for money, Also - I emailed Sealey about this over a month ago, and I haven't had a response.

Great product strong enough to do the job
Bought this after a disaster with a cheap unit that was worse than a chocolate teapot this one cost a little more but boy was it worth it pins to push rivets out of links are hardened and the job of re connecting the chain with a rivet link was a breeze took me 30 mins to complete the entire job of replacing the chain would recommend this

Perfect
Easy to use. See utube video first. V helpful. All chain breakers are easily broken if used incorrectly. I know. I've broken a couple. The river pin end end on mine was quite domed so would not sit exactly as described in the video so a little common sense may be required.

Good tool
Good tool, competitively priced and does the job. Just changed the sprocket set and chain on my NC750X, got the chain off no problem. You do need to be careful riveting the chain back together though as you can easily over tighten it with this and pinch the chain.

Followed instructions but tool was damaged
The anvil that holds onto the rivet from the rear when riveting was soft enough that the rivet left an imprint on it resulting in the other end not flaring at all. The riveting pin inside the body bolt would constantly seize in there. The spring would get stuck and not function properly so I had to use a punch to get the riveting pin out. All of this after properly greasing all the threads before use as well. One end of the tool body had a visible crack from manufacturing. I must've gotten a dud if people are getting this to work.
