These boots are a nice finishing touch to DIY crimped connectors, but mostly for aesthetics. The ribbed strain relief section is pretty stiff, so it doesn't really flex much with the cable so it provides only slight strain relief to bending. But if it's worth anything, but it does move the bending farther away from the connector. Also the cable I was using was a bit undersized, but even if that wasn't the case, I can't imagine the grip of the boot providing much resistance to pulling. Otherwise, I do like that the boots don't easily pull or slide off because there's a lip at the front that catches the small ledge on the underside of the connector. I posted a pic of a cutaway of the connector to try to show this feature and general fit.Overall, it's still slightly better than having no boot and it does give DIY cables a more finished look. So while I'm happy with these for my needs, you should be aware of their functional limitations. I hope this review was helpful.

If you're looking for an adequate boot cover, these will do the job. Haven't found anything to complain about with them. I like the color. They seen to do the job just fine.

These are good quality RJ45 boot covers. These RJ 45 boot covers are not just for "asthetics." They actually serve a purpose by preventing the retainer clip on the RJ45 connector from snagging on objects (like carpet, cables or furniture), and being broken off, when a Ethernet patch cable is being pulled on, or drug across the floor. These RJ45 boot covers are a little stiff, and the hole is a little large for standard Cat. 5e cable diameter (these fit tighter on Cat. 6 cable) However, these RJ45 boot covers do stay in place, and they serve their purpose to protect the retainer clip from being broken off. This is a really good deal on a pack of 100 RJ45 boot covers. I have been an IT Professional for over 25 years, and I have made hundreds of custom Ethernet patch cables during this time. I will never make a patch cable without an RJ45 boot cover like these, because it is just asking for trouble in the future.

Wasn't sure what I might say in a review about an RJ45 boot cover because I thought they were all the same. I was wrong. These are better for two reasons. One of the pictures shows how the design of my old blue connector compares with this new orange one. When installed the blue one protects the connector release, but also makes it hard to operate. This "slit" design on the orange boot makes it much easier to operate.Additionally, the blue one is really only good for inside grade cat6 the hole is too small for the bit larger diameter outside rated cable. As shown in the pictures the orange boots fit on both inside (blue outer) and outside (black cable) cat6 cables.A good value and work better.

These are nice boots for DIY cables - they are made from a reasonably stiff plastic but are flexible enough to work. They snap into place over the jack and hang on pretty well. Sometimes boots like this have a tendency to ride up on the cable, but these don't seem to do it. I like 'em.
