It’s a pricier way of doing this than just using adhesive yourself but with how reliable and low profile it is, I say it’s still less than a replacement drive.

I want to protect my investment, a must-have in your camera bag. Similar to the quick-release connector used on hoses.My favorite part is that it locks in when you slide into the receiver and rotate it 45 degrees. My only dislike is that not all surfaces are equal, and the adhesive backing may or may not be strong enough to hold.For example, I have a 13" MBP with a Plastic Hard Shell Case Cover. Initially, the 3m adhesive tape did not hold. After a second cleaning of the placement area, it held in place. So far, so good.The sleeve that slides into the holder's adhesive backing does not hold depending on the surfaces to which it is applied.For example, the rubber surface of a SanDisk portable SSD has a smooth, slick, rubbery texture, and the 3m tape will not hold onto that type of surface.I have the remedy; the well-trusted Velcro strips solved the issues.

I like to use my external drive for backing up my files, frequently, and sometimes keep certain files only on that drive. It's always annoying to have something dangling from your laptop that doesn't move around with it, or that is taking up space on your desk next to it. This adapter sticks solidly to the laptop lid and drive and locks in place easily to hold the drive nearby but out of the way. I do recommended lining up the location on the laptop lid before sticking it on, make sure the cable reaches the port you want it to and you can align it so the cable isn't hanging in an annoying way. Once the adapter is on, it's solidly stuck there, so you can't redo it.

I’m extremely disappointed with this product. The adhesive is not strong at all — after a short time, it completely failed and caused my hard drive to fall off the back of my TV. Now my HDD looks damaged and may not work properly anymore. This product is supposed to hold securely, but it clearly doesn’t.I reached out to customer support to request a replacement or at least a solution, but I haven’t received any response. For something meant to protect expensive electronics, this is unacceptable. I do not recommend this if you're planning to use it to mount anything valuable.

The media could not be loaded. I was in the search for a solution to mount my portable hard drive to my laptop for when I am traveling. I also wanted to find a compact solution to make my laptop portable with all the accessories and hard drives. This hard drive mount works perfectly, is durable, very sturdy and carries the weight of my hard drive. I was kind of concerned that it wouldn't be able to hold the weight of my hard drive, but it can handle it great. The tap adhesive is very strong so you have no worries about it coming off.

The media could not be loaded. I have tried a pocket, stick-on pouch to hold my external hard drive.... let me tell you, THIS is the way to go. Way more stable! My external harddrive is touchy when the cord is touched, but this holds it in place so well! It took about 30 seconds to get it put on my laptop, and it has been worth it ever since! I love the convenience of it!

Love the design, but the adhesive did not last. I applied the adhesive according to directions on June 29th. Today is July 7th, and it fell off the lid of my laptop. I will use a different adhesive and test if it will work better.
