I didn’t read reviews. I thought the ends were metal, just grooved to add friction. Instead, the ends are flexible like wire but just hold together better since the wire is braided. I’m using them on the other side of a speaker keystone jack — the part in a wall. I had the option to solder the speaker wire ends or use this option. Soldering reduces resistance but it’s hard to keep the solder smooth for me. So I figured this route would save me time. It certainly did. Also because they are flexible, it worked out better in the keystone. I’m using the kind where both terminals are in one keystone port. So they are really close together. If the banana jack was stiff, I couldn’t have used them with the two in one keystone port (black and red push buttons).Although I was lucky, I wished at least the pictures don’t show the wires straight. They don’t come that way. They are all curved like other reviews show.

I love vintage gear, my Harmon Kardon, Sansui, Pioneer and Luxman gear are built beautifully and sound great but they were built to accept smaller speaker gauge wire of the past. My modern speakers accept 5 way binding post and before replacing the spring loaded clips with banana binding post on my vintage gear this is what I use to test the equipment. The speaker wire shown has banana plugs on one end and these on the other end. They go one easy, two set screws get backed out, insert wire, tighten them down and you are good to go.

Needed for some 70s stereo equipment because I don't care for bare wire in latch connectors. One of the wire screws on a connector was overtorqed in the inner sleeve and could not be removed because it's wedged insode at an angle and caught on part of the bottom screw threads. I only needed for pair for the stereo setup, so it didn't stop me from setting up anything, but it is still a quality oversight even though the screw is really tiny.
