These geodes were true to described size, cracked open with reasonable effort (& Grandpa's help) , and revealed fun crystals. We took them outside and set the geode on a cement block with a towel draped over it. Kids (11 yrs, 10, yrs, 8 yrs) wore safety glasses, and patiently tapped with a smaller hammer. We recommend this product!

We loved smashing the geodes! Great for getting stress out and then seeing the wonderful crystals inside!!! Total value for the money!!!

One of the XL geodes in our order arrived broken open (they appear to have broken out of their box during shipping as they are quite heavy). It looked like a really good geode but we need all 8 for our littlest birthday party. I reached out to the seller and they were quick to respond and sent me two replacements right away that arrived in good shape.These will definitely be a hit at the birthday party and I love that it's a fun science/geology project and not just cheap plastic. The bigger ones are definitely easier to open for our littlest too since there is more surface area to hold onto and not accidentally smash a finger. Hopefully the shipping issue isn't too common and maybe the sticker tape in ours just wasn't on the box tight enough but regardless the seller took care of the issue right away which I greatly appreciated.

The smaller ones were too hard to break. Came with about half small and half large rocks.

Half of the geodes were solid nodules. The other half were nice with small quartz crystals and snowball accretion. Fun for the kids, but expected all to be hollow, as you can tell by holding them and their weight for size.

I ordered 2 boxes of 8 geodes for a Halloween party. All of the geodes were hollow with crystals inside. The kids loved them, and enjoyed opening them.

Love, love, love these!!! We gave them as part of our "We hope your Christmas Rocks" gift basket, and they were a hit!! We also cracked them open with our kids and grandkids... and everyone was different but so amazing in its own way!! We highly recommend.

Geodes were very difficult to crack. Many were not hallow like the photos show, but instead a solid rock and extremely hard to crack. I had to use a sludge hammer and pieces were flying everywhere. Not safe for kids.
