Noctua NM-AMB12, chromax.Black Offset AMD AM5 Mounting Bars for Improved Cooling Performance (Black)

Had the noctua tower cooler installed on older intel motherboard but switched to am5. This allowed me to install my trusty cooler on modern AMD board. worked like a charm!

It was easy to swap out the existing chromax mounting bars. Uses same spacers/screws. It dropped max temps in testing about 2-3 C. At idle, maybe slightly less more like 1-2 C. All in all, exactly what it promises.One thing of note, after installing these, the rubber anti-vibration corner pads on my chromax fans attached to the d-15 are directly up against the backplate of my video card in my first pcie slot. So that may be worth considering. It's not causing any issues, but it's a very tight fit.

Ran a few temperature test before it was installed with Prime85 and 3dMark and then installed it ran the same tests a few days after having it installed and my CPU temps in HWInfo were on average 3dedgrees lower. Ever little bit counts.Note: You would think 7mm is not a lot but it's enough to make the Noctua NH-D15 overhang your graphics PCI-E port (Asus Crosshair X670E) if not oriented properly. So make sure the longer overhang side of the NH-D15 is going towards the top of the case.

This bracket is a must for NH D15 to user with a AM5 processor. Expect at least 3/4 c drop

I'm using this with a Noctua NH-D15 chromax.black, on an AMD Ryzen 9 7950x3D. Before the offset, idle temps were around 46-47 degrees in a room that is ~22 degrees. This offset helped to drop the temps by around 2 degrees. A modest improvement, but for the price, it's worth it in my opinion.

I thought I needed this to fit a D9L cooler to a new AM5 board, since the cooler didn't come with a bracket for AM4/AM5 (which are thankfully interchangeable). This thing is available to very specifically resolve clearance issues for very specific use cases. The AM4/5 bracket kit can be had for FREE from Noctua directly, just ask them for it. That's all I really needed; I sent this back.Since this item is reported by Amazon as frequently returned, they should probably more clearly state what it's intended purpose is...
