A must have for serious learning in Fusion
After watching countless videos I wasn't able to grasp how to work the Fusion 360 tools to get my ideas into a model. This book includes a series of 28 projects which teach the principles of modeling in Fusion. The very first project taught me more than all the videos I had watched. Each chapter introduces new skills and concludes with review questions to test the knowledge gained. There are also challenge projects in each chapter which present an idea to model, encouraging creative thinking. Included with the book is a Discord forum where participants ask questions, share knowledge and post project pictures. I am just finishing this book and feel very confident creating new designs in Fusion. The authors are just finishing the second edition which I will also purchase. I encourage anyone truing to learn Fusion to own this book (and the second edition) If GrandpaMakes, you can too

Tthe sophistication of CAD modeling with the elegance of an instructional guide
This book combines the sophistication of CAD modeling with the elegance of an instructional guide, making it a standout among Fusion 360 tutorial books. The beauty lies in its step-by-step approach. Unlike many other guides which leap from concept to concept, Mastering Fusion 360 gently escorts you through each stage of the CAD modeling process, ensuring that you are both comfortable and confident before moving on. The author clearly understands the needs of the learner, prioritizing comprehension over speed, an approach that helps to foster not just knowledge but also a passion for the subject. The beautiful, high-resolution images and fun projects provide a potent blend of theory and practice, stimulating learning by doing. These features cater to different learning styles, making concepts tangible and easy to grasp. This book's strength lies in its patient pacing and progressive structure. By starting with simpler designs and gradually advancing to more complex projects, the reader never feels overwhelmed, fostering a seamless and confident learning journey.Mastering Fusion 360 strikes the right balance between accessible instruction and hands-on practice. It's a must-read for anyone interested in learning CAD modeling with Fusion 360!

Finally, a Fusion 360 tutorial/text I can recommend!
If you, like me, have always wanted to learn CAD but just haven't managed to find the right resource for truly "getting" it, this book might just be the answer. It certainly was for me.I've seen the other top books in the Fusion 360 category and I must say, this book is superior in a few important ways. First, it contains thousands of full-color high-quality photos that help tremendously in figuring out what does what.Second, the projects do not skip steps, making them easy to follow. I'll admit, I did make mistakes and thought the book was missing information, only to realize I had either missed a step or entered something incorrectly.Lastly, there is a real community that includes the authors willing to help when you're stuck. Each chapter contains a link to a private discussion forum about that specific project. I've never seen this in other tutorial books but it's very useful. I hate getting stuck for hours or days knowing there's a simple answer but having no way to find it. This very much solves that problem.I could go on and on, but I'll stop there. If you're reading this and thinking about buying the book, do it. You'll be glad you did.

I'm a Little Torn
I'm a little torn about Mastering Fusion 360. I have more than a rudimentary understand of Fusion 360. I've modeled maybe 20 projects for 3D printing, but I wanted to step up my game and Mastering Fusion 360 was recommended to me. I particularly wanted to develop my understanding of the use of the time line and editing existing models. The book is project oriented with projects getting more and more complex. It did give me a better understanding of modeling threads, but it did not fill the holes in my knowledge that I had hoped. The book is only very partially oriented to 3D printing. Some project like the 3D printer hot end would clearly need to be made on a CNC lathe and/or milling machine. The book does not heavily address the special design issues faced when modeling for 3D printing.Fusion 360 is a very complex application. No one book (or YouTube video) will make you a master. I think Mastering Fusion 360 is worth having. Some will find the project approach taken by the book very useful. Many formal technical classes take the same approach and are very successful in that approach. It's just I skipped the first three week of class and now I'm trying to back fill.

Down to business
This book is great, it gets down business, and is no overly, "wordy", so to speak. It hits home the main points and will have you building impressive models in no time.

Must have for CAD beginners!
I wish I had access to a book like this when I was learning to CAD. The book covers everything from CAD to CAM and everything between. There is a page listing the hotkeys in the front, and even a discord server if you need help! In my experience, the best way to learn CAD is by doing projects you enjoy; this book has 28 fun projects, each designed to make you use different features of the software to ensure learning by experience.Full disclosure, I know both authors personally and was witness to the development of knowledge and skills that went into this book. They teach classes for both kids and adults at the same makerspace I used to operate out of. I was an instructor there as well, while doing client work on the side that involved rapid prototyping and small scale manufacturing. I can think of no better pair of teachers to make learning this subject easy and efficient. My only hope is that their next book be on entrepreneurship… podcast?
