Nice, once it's in!
I chose this lever, instead of a doorknob, for my recently purchased home. (I'm changing out all the locks and knobs.) I reasoned when I get older, a lever will be easier than a knob to open.I had issues swapping this out, and it turned out to be a little bulge at the base of the components that slide through the internal workings' latch. The hole in the door (which matched the template) just would not let the bases fit through to make the lever backer plate flush to the door until I used a couple of files and gave those 4 areas more space. (See pics) Then it worked - well.The key side will unlock (for me, when turned upward) and lock when turned down, but to remove the key, it must be returned to the horizontal position for either. Makes it easy to remember! I feel like I'll like it a lot.FYI, I could not get the new lever's latch to catch on the new frame plate. I got tired of uninstalling and reinstalling knowing it worked on the old frame plate, so I reinstalled the original frame plate and later will paint it black to match.

Easy to install
I’ve never put in a new door handle before, but this one was easy peasy. Since I already had a handle changing it out was so easy no drilling. Looks great!

Beautiful, solid, quality
I'm so happy with how this looks - I've been upgrading all of the door handles and locks in our home from the builder-grade brushed-nickel knobs to matte black handles slowly but surely, and this is one that I picked up for that switchover. It came with the switchplate, mechanism, screws, instructions, everything needed to install, even from scratch if the door hadn't been drilled out yet (even though mine had been). I'm very pleased and would definitely purchase this model again.
