To remove the pessary it is necessary to grab the stem of the pessary between the fingers, gently pull to slide the pessary out. Once removed you can clean it with mild soap and warm water and then rinse it. 6/12 months is the ideal time interval to replace the pessary, so as to avoid any pressure injuries and vaginal infections.
