Sturdy, well made, but hard to open but very happy with my purchase

So much better than the head you have to put together - saves me 30 minutes of my life each shoot! Good quality feels it will last a while.

£77 at time of reviewI’ve loads of small rig cages and mounts, I’ve been using their kit for years, although I don’t have any of their lights, I generally use LED panels, but I do have a couple of COB lights and this fitted it perfectly. It’s very light weight, and not too bulky, folds down pretty small, which is great as once you start packing the car with all your kit it really start to mount up!In use it works well, I expected it too, I have other soft boxes but different manufacturers, and this gave pretty much identical results. Yes at £77 these seem over priced, but it’s the going rate, and to be honest, once you have them, they last a lifetime, my other ones have been going strong for years and I expect these too as well.Hope my review was helpful

I own a few smallrig products and they mostly seem well-made and well thought out. This is a 25” diameter softbox with a Bowens mount fitting for attaching to a studio light with a Bowens mount for attaching accessories. Not surprisingly Smallrig sell these too.It’s fairly easy to assemble, just pop your hand down inside and press on the fabric until you here the click that means the ribs have locked into place. You need to work around the circle to ensure all ribs are locked. This is a work of moments. Then you have to fiddle with the Velcro tabs to attach two diffuser, a small internal one, and a larger one that fits on the end attached to a Velcro strip that runs all around the inside of the rim.If you don’t want soft light then there is a fabric honeycomb grid that can be attached and this will give you some directional light.Folding the umbrella bit down after use is not as easy as setting it up. The instructions say press the button on the mount at the base of each rib. I found that doing this produced no change. I found that slipping a couple of fingers under the rib and lifting, to take off some of the pressure on the button, would allow the button to move. The button is small and held with quite a bit of tension and you have to release all 12 ribs one at a time. I’m sure this could have been made easier.Folded the reflector is about 18” long, and the base is about 7” across. It all packs into a cheap bag with a shoulder strap and a Smallrig logo.This seems to me to be a good piece of kit that in a studio will see a lot of use. Site happy to recommend.

Excellent quality parabolic softbox from SMALLRIG made from very good materials and will last a very long time if treated correctly.Comes with everything you will need in the bag inner & outer diffuser plus a grid which is a great bonus.This is the first parabolic softbox or any softbox I have had where you have to put it up by using the individual rods and I have to admit I struggled a lot setting it up the first time. I was nervous about how much pressure to use when pulling the rods out BUT they can take the force I am not saying go crazy with it but you need not worry and now I can put this up in about a minute if that.I got the 25.6” size it is lightweight so is perfect for travelling with my only minor grumble is the bag it comes with, the quality is not the best or what I normally expect from SMALLRIG bags BUT saying that the bag will protect the parabolic softbox from rain, dust etc.It does it job extremely well produces a softer light as you would expect from a softbox but obviously it will also depend on the light/power you are using it with, the grid will give you a more precise direction for the light with no light spill.Overall I am very impressed with the SMALLRIG parabolic softbox and would and have been recommending it to anyone that needs one this size.

I must say this is my first Smallrig branded Softbox and I am very impressed with the build quality, durability and easy setup it offers. This is listed as kind of Octabox but I would call it a Softbox. It has inner and outer defuse panels as well as grid and for £76.90 minus 10% discount Currently been offered on Amazon it is a steal. Even a Softbox without grid will cost more.It is very lightweight hence great for weddings and outdoor shoots. It comes with universal Bowen mount and a carrying bag. I have used it with Godox MS300 and Ad200 lights. It can also be used with LED light panels for videos or continuous lighting setup. It is easy to set up within 5 minutes and once you done for the day, it can be folded back to be stored in the bag. It comes with instructional manual but I didn't need it as I have over 30 years of experience in photography.I am absolutely in love with it and I will definitely be buying more stuff from SmallRig brand. 5 stars from me.

This light modifier from smallrig is quite allright. It's easy to set up and diffueses light nicely. It's robust and it looks like the clips will last long. One issue I had with it is that the diffuser material is slightly too small. Not a bid deal, but you really have to stretch it to reach every corner. I didn't notice any light bleed but it's definitely a bigger chore to set up than my other soft boxes. I also think it's overpriced for what it is. I have a soft box from another company, cost me £65 and does everything this one does, but it's even more robust and easier to set up. If I had to choose I'd definitely go for that brand over the smallrig.

I like Smallrig products, they’re usually well designed and made… these rectangular soft boxes are well made but poor design, they’re very hard to get into position and then when you do they don’t hold together properly. Bought 2 of them to use as portable defusers as they pack flat but had to return both of them

I really like the LA series softboxes. They're light, small and do a great job of diffusing. I own 4 of the RA series, but I really only use my LA 65 and 85 for shoots. The light weight makes them perfect on lighter duty stands. Sure the quick release ring is plastic and the ribs are thinner, but I've used my LA D85 on tons of shoots and it's held up well. The shorter ribs are a bonus compared to the longer parabolic ribs on the RAs. Recommended.

Lo he utilizado en 2 ocasiones y la verdad es que tiene muy buena pinta, primero de calidad y de fácil manejo en cuanto a plegar y desplegar.

Mi serviva un softbox per la mia key light nei collegamenti da remoto, comodissima l'apertura a scatto e ottima diffusione della luce! Esteticamente fa la sua figura a studio e si percepisce subito dai materiali che è un prodotto di qualità. L'ho usato per scatti fotografici di ritratto con la griglia a nido d'ape e considerata la sua facilità di trasporto e montaggio direi che è un ottimo oggetto per chi si muove spesso tra una location e l'altra.
