Better then the Fosmon Mini Bluetooth Keyboard that it is replacing
A really good mini keyboard for the $8.50 that I paid for it on sale a couple of months ago. Still pretty solid for the current price of about $15. It has a much better touchpad then my old Fosmon Mini Bluetooth Keyboard (currently $28) that died and it is cheaper. This one is bigger then the fosman, but I like that as the larger size makes the keyboard more usable, while the touchpad is way better then the barely usable Fosmon. This touchpad is still not exactly great, but usable. This one does not have bluetooth, so I have to put the wireless dongle in whatever I am using it with, but I actually prefer that for my typical usecases over messing with flaky bluetooth. It has a compartment for storing the wireless adapter on the back of the unity, a must have for a device like this that requires an adapter. All of the keys feel like individual switches, just those little clicky button switches, but better then mushy membrane keys. The Fosman has the same sort of keys.It has a backlight, it is a bit uneven, but I can see all of the keys well enough in the dark so it functions well enough.Battery life is pretty good if I remember to turn it off, I hardly ever have to charge it. But it does not seem to auto shut off after a period of time or anything like that so it will just run it's self dead overnight if left on. The Fosman one would kind of do that too when left on, although being Bluetooth it would take like 3 days to run itself dead.Overall I am pretty happy with it especially for the price that I paid, but even at the current price it is pretty decent and I would recommend it.

Don't buy because it has IR
I did, but it turned out to not be useful. It works, but I need to be less than 6ft from the receiver for it to register correctly. I programmed it many times, thinking it wasn't reading the other remote correctly, before realizing that I just wasn't close enough. So why so many stars? The rest of it just works great for my HT setup. The PC is over 20ft away from my seat, without direct line-of sight. I was using a much more expensive wireless keyboard, and while it worked, it was sometimes finicky about registering keypresses at that distance, depending on how and where it was being held. It was also pretty big for the application, even thought it's a smaller laptop-style. But I am super impressed by the wireless range of this little keyboard. It hasn't missed a keypress once, and the size makes much more sense for use as a remote. The buttons are firm enough to prevent accident keypresses, but have a nice tactile response when pressed. And the backlighting is a real blessing for use in dark environments. If the IR section worked as well as the RF, it would have been a home-run and very likely the best $10 I ever spent. But even without the IR functionality, it's still a great buy for the HT user who just needs a good, small and inexpensive backlit keyboard remote, with the occasional mouse input.

Great value for a mini keyboard/touch pad with IR learning.
This wireless mini keyboard works great. Not Bluetooth, but I have not had any issues using the included dongle for my use case of 10feet. It has 8 buttons for IR learning, I only programmed the power function from three devices (PC, TV, & speaker bar) and works fine. no way to setup macros, so I can't turn on all my devices with single button, but I don't mind. Not many mini keyboards have IR learning at this price point, (I have another cheap remote but that IR works inconsistently). This is an older design since the charge port is micro-USB but it does come with the USB cable. Not a one-hand remote but still small enough for the couch. Great value.

Great design but the worst reliability of any rii product I have owned.
I have owed so many rii products and other than the occasional power cycle they just always work and i genuinely like most rii mini keyboard units until this product. The touch pad is highly unstable. The file dragging into other folders unintentionally and not being able to mouse over the actual button I want to interact with just makes these completely unusable to me not to mention the mouse button separation which is less of an issue because of multitouch . In the past my only complaints were design flaws. Like having the mouse buttons on the same side as the touch pad makes it more difficult to click and drag or like the k06 making the del key a function. The best unit I have owned is one with the orange scroll wheel that is in with my laptop and a second in my bedroom a close second is the white one from my pictures it has the mouse buttons on the left easy access, bluetooth and 2.4 dongle. Now make that with the ir for my tv and yes you will have a winner! I also have a few air mouse units including the rii i just dont like air mice. I have owned many many more and these are the ones in my living room that still work. The most reliable unit but the actual worst design is the fosmon also pictured it does not have multitouch making it so bad to try and scroll i had to make a script to use arrow keys as scroll wheel to overcome the issue. Here is my dream unit Rii if your listening similar design and shape to this unit, with a usable touchpad, mouse buttons on left, scroll wheel, separate back and del buttons with bluetooth and 2.4 dongle. I also purchased 4 of these and all 4 have touchpad issues which is uncommon for Rii typically getting what you pay for and is advertised!

It works okay. Rii has a much better model.
I have been buying Rii mini keyboards for years. They are the best IMO. But not this one. It's okay. It works. A close third to their Best model which is the i8+. While this model has a built in scroll wheel which is nice. I need my reading glasses and overhead lighting; because the fonts are barely visible on the buttons and the colored illumination that disappears automatically is useless . The touch pad is not as smooth functioning as the i8+. It's as though this unit is just borrowing the Rii brand because it acts like a cheap copycat. I bought one to try because of the price. I won't be buying another. This is a disappointment. The i8+ is the one I'll keep buying until Rii quits making them.
