Imitation Book: Interactive & Fun Learn to Talk Board Book For Toddlers Ages 0-4, Written by a Speech Therapist

I am an SLP and I also have a toddler! When she was a baby I came across the recommendation for this book somewhere so I got it. And we’ve looked at it and read it since she was probably around a year, it’s been one of her favorites to attend to/listen to, and very cool to see her start to imitate the gestures and some of the early sounds more and more as the weeks went by, and now she’s 18 months and she still LOVES it, it’s usually one she always brings to me, and she loves making all the sounds and gestures. it’s simplicity for targeting joint attention, turn taking, imitation, comprehension and early speech is beautiful and motivating!! Great info and tips for parents in the beginning as well. I will probably upcycle the book when she’s done with it to use in therapy with littles, or at the very least will be recommending to parents :) well done, from one SLP to another!

As a pediatric SLP, I use this book in therapy quite a bit when I need something quick and easy. Helpful for targeting a wide range of goals, I.e., sound production, identifying/labeling, following directions, etc. I use this book with children of all different ages and abilities. I haven’t owned it for very long, so I’m not sure how the durability will be long term. So far, it has withheld some rough handling and cleaning with hospital wipes. The book is very simple and straight forward, which may make it a beneficial tool for families hoping to increase caregiver-child interaction, improve child attention, facilitate speech/language development, etc.

This is one of my daughter’s favorite books. It has taught her so much & is simple with great graphics. Cannot recommend enough for a child’s development!

As a 30 year speech therapist and now grandmother to a 10 month old I absolutely love this book! She loves it too. It is so much fun and target so many things you want to in those early months and years thank you for writing this. I have consistently recommended to my early intervention clients to get books with just one picture on a page and now I have this gem to recommend.

My toddler really enjoyed this book. It helps with speech development to encourage young children to say the 'fun' action words like 'bam' while banging on a picture of a drum, etc.

My 1 year old loves this book. She enjoys watching me do the motions and sounds and has started to imitate some of them.

This book was recommended by my daughter's speech therapist. It's definitely a great book to help her with imitation and interactions she loves it.
