KneadAce review
What a functional starter container this is, with a mouth big enough to put my entire hand inside to clean it. The accessories include one cotton top, a rubber-type top, one elastic band with dates and hours that shows when you last fed your starter, and can be slid up and down the glass container to show the starting point of the starter before feeding it, a very functional spatula, and a temperature gauge that goes on the glass vessel. When the glass container is not in the fridge, you can put the rubber top on the bottom of the vessel to prevent it from sliding around on the countertop, which is lovely. It also includes a long, complex rubber tool for steering your starter, and it easily cleans off the sides of the glass starter container when preparing your starter in the vessel. As for the temperature gauge, be careful not to disregard it; it's tiny in a plastic package with the other accessories. I accidentally threw mine away because I was unaware of it in the package. I emailed KneadAce, and they emailed me the same day. I told them what I did and offered to buy another temperature gauge. KneadAce said that they would send me another temperature gauge for free. Finding customer service like this is tough; my hat is certainly off to Michelle who was my customer service representative. One last thing, the cardboard box and packaging inside that the glass container came in was perfect. You know KneadAce cares about the quality of the product when it comes packaged this well. The picture is of the second KneadAce I bought.

A Surprisingly Quality Product
I recently received my sourdough jar and I am very pleased with the quality of the product. I was honestly skeptical figuring it was going to be made of cheap glass and materials like some other brands. Here is my review…The Jar:After opening the box I was surprised. The actual jar itself is made of thick glass and has some weight to it but not overly heavy. For those of you like me with the Brod & Taylor Sourdough Home, it fits perfectly inside without any issues.Silicone base:It came with a silicone lid or base bottom. I use it for a base bottom currently to help keep it from sliding around when I have it on the counter.Cloth lid:I read a few reviews and people had advised that the canvas lid material didn’t fit on their jar because it was too small. I use it and I did not find it difficult to use and fits perfectly.Silicone spatula:So far the spatula works fine and is actually a very sturdy silicone spatula perfect for stirring your starter or using it to discard. When I saw it in the manufacturers photo I really thought it was going to be cheap and flimsy. I can say it is not at all flimsy and is pretty stiff and works well.Feeding band:It fits well on the jar and is of a soft cloth like elastic material which stays in place no matter where on the jar it is. (Sure beats using a rubber band).Temperature sticker:It works well and it keeps a pretty close temperature. It has 3M backing adhesive which is a plus knowing it’s 3M, hopefully is stays on for a while, it should… It’s 3M :)Packaging:Very well packed with styrofoam from the top and bottom. It was delivered on time by Amazon (Thank you) and arrived intact.Overall it is a quality product. if you’re just getting into sourdough or a pro it adds a touch of flair to your counter. I highly recommend this product.

A Must-Have for Any Sourdough Baker – All the Essentials in One Kit!
I’m a professional baker, and I picked this up to use at home—and I have to say, it’s honestly perfect for what I needed. The 34 oz sourdough starter jar is sturdy, spacious, and super functional for keeping my starter happy between bakes. The markings and breathable lid make maintenance easy, and the size gives me plenty of room to build up for multiple loaves. The magnetic bread lame is a nice bonus—sharp, easy to handle, and great for clean, controlled scoring. It's a simple touch, but it makes a big difference when you're working with delicate, well-hydrated dough.Important to note: this kit does not come with banneton baskets, so you’ll need to grab those separately if you don’t already have them. But for the price and quality, this is still a fantastic value.Pros:✔️ Large, sturdy starter jar perfect for frequent home baking✔️ Easy-to-use lid and clear markings for feeding and monitoring✔️ Magnetic bread lame is precise and comfortable to use✔️ Great gift or setup for anyone getting serious about sourdough✔️ Professional-grade quality for home useCons:✘ No proofing baskets included—but I already have my favorites, so it wasn’t a dealbreakerFinal Thoughts:Whether you’re just starting out or you're a serious home baker, this kit gives you exactly what you need to maintain a healthy starter and get consistent, beautiful loaves. Definitely pro-approved for home use!

It works good for what it is but you don’t need it to have a successful starter.
I got this when I first started my sourdough journey. There’s a lot of great things about it but after 2 months of use here is what you need to know :1. the fabric cap … kinda sucks. It holds on just fine it’s just if your rim is not perfectly clean, the cap get dirty.2. You really kinda need 2 of them. You have to clean the jar every 2-3 days so you have to transfer the starter in an other jar every 2-3 days.3. There’s a very small crevasse on top of the jar for the cap to stay on. Starter always get stuck there and it’s a pain to clean it.4. The weight printed on the jar is very usefully !!5. The elastic to tell you how much your starter has rise and when you fed your starter is great !6. Spatualla does the trick.Over all it’s good. But I think it’s a gimmick. You could use a clear glass of water, a rubber band , a random lid and mark straight up on the glass if you need to see the time on the feed.

Sourdough starter jars
I was just able to use these and they are great, nice large size and they seem to be very durable. When I ordered the set of 2, I was only sent one so that became a little confusing figuring out how to get the 2nd one. I’ll have to thank Amazon for getting it all straightened out.
