great gear
The gear I received was great looking and very well made with good quality throughout. Shipping was quick and complete. I am sorry to say I had to return it due to having past knee replacement and unfortunately my knee could not take the strain, so with the pain and obvious danger of attempting to climb I had to return the gear. But from all indications and my views it seemed to be very good gear. The return went so well and easy I was amazed. The money was back into my account the same day I returned the merchandise. Awesome!.

I like them
I’ve used several of these types of climbers. Some like from work that are over 1000$ pair and honestly for the occasional use these are perfect. They are much more comfortable than the other Amazon set I had. The harness fits well and they even include an ascender. I would recommend

Novice Review
I needed a way to mount a antenna for our WIFI 60' feet up in a pine tree. We have old growth 100' tall pine trees everywhere which was making receiving our Verizon WIFI sketchy. My extension ladder is 40' but that was not enough. I have never climbed a tree with spikes, and I can admit I was a little scared, I started off going up 10' than 20' ect. Once my confidence built up, I took a deep breath and was able to get up to where I needed to. For the record, 60' up a tree is no walk in the park. A friend of mine had a tree climbing belt that I used with a strap to climb like you see telephone workers doing. I did pick a tree with no lower branches, so it was a straight shot. The spikes were the only thing I used, no harness etc, and the spikes worked with no issues. I did have to scuff off bark in some places so they could get a good bite because of the thick bark on these old trees. It was scarry at first, but my fear was from lack of experience and not the equipment. For my needs these worked great, and I would buy them again. 5 STARS

Disclaimer.... but recommend
Buy--or do not buy- this set based upon your own research and experience. I received it because I am interested in learning how to climb trees this way and not because I am experienced or qualified to advise anyone on whether this is the right set for them. What I can say is that you receive everything that is needed (with the exception of a long rope!) to ascend nearly any tree. All of the items are extremely high quality and heavyweight--made with quality leather and stainless steel.I am over 6 feet tall and was able to adjust everything to fit with no issues whatsoever. The set is rated for 280 lbs total. While climbing trees is scary for me as a novice, the quality and completeness of this set does give me some confidence to begin to learn the skill. The seller wisely recommends that you begin your tree climbing exercises at heights of about a meter or less--which is great advice. But what I can say is that it is a great workout, isn't as hard as it looks and if done safely, is actually quite fun.

Quality components
This set is made form top-quality material, from the tough leather of the wide leg pads to the steel spikes. The belt is not leather, but is made of tough manufactured materials. The carabiners are quality metal, as are the nylon ropes.
