Simtek StealthALERT Sensor for Monitoring Guns and Storage, Security System with App

I have tested it daily and it works every time.

This is a great product! After searching for a way to monitor a safe I finally stumbled across this product. After a small issue was discovered on setup it was resolved by the most attentive customer service response I have ever seen. The customer service was so good they just texted me months after purchase to make sure my unit was operating as expected. Who does that?? I am buying another one today to support thiscompany.

Good concept however... The most important objectives this device is supposed to accomplish does neither: #1: Alert on movement and #2: locate device when it has been moved. Note: I did use the external antenna. I set this up originally in my storage unit ~50 yards away from me and tested. I received the alerts - great. Except the timing was slow at ~10-15 seconds - not bad but I would think they would be able to make the alerts immediate.Note: I had to troubleshoot initially as it needed to be charged fully and you need to remove the plastic piece between the battery and contacts so you could charge the battery/make the unit go live - that was not in the setup instructions (unless I missed it). Problem: the location of the device was showing it was located .5 - 1+ miles away with a large radius. So, if it was stolen/moved, I would never be able to find it making that feature useless. I then moved it into my apartment - tried placing it in multiple locations and tested the motion detection and actual movement features - did not receive any alerts. I even picked it up and shook it - nothing. I charged it fully again, rebooted my phone, pulled the battery out/reinserted, looked for updates to the app (none), ..moved it to different locations - nothing. Its like it went into hibernation mode - just stopped working. Perhaps a problem with the cellular triangulation? I need something reliable - if the device just fades to sleep and you don't know about it, you'll never know if the device or place it was located was disturbed. Also, when I did receive alerts the locations were all different - there would be no way to actually locate the device if it was moved. I understand this is due to the network / cellular provider (vs. using GPS) however at this point in time the device is NOT ready for prime time; it is unreliable at best. There are much better methods; Air tag type tech, wireless/motion detection video cameras, etc. The ease of setup was probably the best thing about it but if the product doesn't work... Back to the drawing board for this one.

My home is being remodeled and so is a target for burglars. Our contractor had expensive tools stolen from the house early in the remodel project and this got be a bit panicked about all of the expensive stuff I have stored in the garage. Wanted to get a sense of security without too much complication. Enter StealthAlert paired with a cheap webcam. I picked up StealthAlert to notify me of any unexpected activity in the garage (which I could then corroborate with the camera and call the authorities).StealthAlert has been rock solid for this purpose. No false alerts and it gets actual activity in the garage every time. In addition, it was a breeze to setup and battery life is phenomenal.I do wish I could sign up for a service that would call me if an alert goes off. My big worry is that I miss an alert overnight and so a monitored service would be a great addition.

Cool concept with simple, workable alerting and tipping although very much a work in- progress. CEO is very engaged and personally fielded my outreach on UI and other tech exchanges. Although I took it in the field on a quasi-wardriving exercise to recalibrate the sizable errors in providing accurate geolocation, this issue persists on my unit. Environmental sensors are not highly sensitive to low-level ambient light but PIR motion trips very well every time. Humidity, Temperature is accurate. Battery life is already down to 76% so we'll watch that since it's allegedly designed for 1 year between charges. Guardedly optimistic that firmware/software releases and enhanced SMS / RCS forwarding service providers will address GPS challenges. Also a method to purge logs in software would be a nice-to-have albeit, not critical feature. A very well made unit and works exactly as described. I bought this as protection for my home safe and to protect luggage in the car trunk when traveling overseas. It is all very easy to set up and the app is excellent. And, the follow up service for any questions is terrific, quick and professional.Before buying I did research all options and could not find anything else which ticked all my boxes. The Simtek Stealth Alert ticks all the boxes !Many thanks.

Simtek has been my go-to whenever I've wanted to monitor any kind of space. I've used one in my outside carport closet, in my Liberty safe, in one of my garage closets that holds sensitive things, and most recently in my car trunk as I drove across country and had to park overnight at hotels.It's always worked and I've never had to worry about power or connectivity issues. It's been a great piece of mind. Straightforward tech that works.

I was looking looking for some additional protection and this item fits perfectly.
