Would not be without it
Excellent magazine, not just aimed at computing fans but widely applicable to all PC users as well as useful for those with connected gadgets, iPads, iPhones, etc. Tons of simple advice and instructions for protecting yourself and your equipment in a very easy, plain English style. Having subscribed to the print edition for most of the year, this disc now enables me to access any of the features from 2015 easily. Fully searchable, pdf format and the later editions on the disc are great for making the most out of Windows 10.

As brilliant as always - lots of Windows 10 content, too. . .
I think this is probably the most useful CD that Computeractive have released - because of all the Windows 10 content on it. Almost every issue on the CD has tips on using Windows 10 (how to upgrade, should you upgrade, how to keep it safe - etc). The CD works just like all previous ones - easy to search, easy to print. Best of all, I can now donate my 2015 magazines to my local dentist surgery - and clear out some space at home. Overall, it's a big thumbs up from me. Recommended.

especially someone like me who sits and strives at home
This CD containing the back issues of "Computer Active" is an important asset to any home computer user, especially someone like me who sits and strives at home, alone, sorting out computer issues. This No.18 issue is doubly important as it goes through the Windows 10 release that compounded the problem of 10 siting on top of 8.1 siting on top of 8, whilst a second device I have 10 siting on 7. BUT I still have (as a lot of users seem to have,) trusty old XP. Thank you "Computer Active", I still buy your Mag. Why 4 stars, well perhaps I should have given it 5 stars as I am having enjoyment in compiling my own index.

Needed some knowledge to fire up on my system
Sadly I struggled to get this working as its start up tried to keep forcing me to download Adobe DC and I use Adobe XI (eleven). The disk works with adobe XI perfectly just had to open it a different way by navigating to the Dvd Drive and opening the home.pdf file. After that it works as before. One small annoyance is there is still no way to just read the magazine page by page, but the links from the index page work well. Now all I have to do is gather all the years mags together and bin them, wifey will be pleased.

I subscribe to the Computeractive magazine and have done for ...
I subscribe to the Computeractive magazine and have done for many years receiving it every fortnight. Buying the disk allows me to recycle the 24 magazines each year but still keep them in a more compact form. My biggest complaint is the search facility which unless you know the exact thing you are looking for can either give you hundreds of returns or none depending on the search criteria you use.I actually create an index of my own using a spreadsheet covering all the articles, problems etcetera, that were of interest to me.

Good buy
Good buy, though an expensive way of making room in my book shelves. I bought all these in magazine form during 2016 but wanted to be able to find stuff easily and to make room. If you buy Computer Active you'll know how useful it can be and this takes up much less space. Think that maybe they should offer subscribers a discount though as we're in effect paying twice for the same thing.

Invaluable Space Saver!
Invaluable space saver. I have every issue of this CD back to Computer Active's first appearance, 16 years ago and many Windows systems back, and they all still produce the information asked for. How I wish similar CDs were available for the monthly computer mags as well, the paper issues of which fill up half my garage and must, alas, eventually be recycled. One can't have everything....
