Edge of your Seat Thriller
Set in NYC and upstate NY this novel is a real page-turner. It’s wonderful to see John Deegan again. He’s a hero, genius and just a little crazy. The Pipeline brings us closer to Vic and Raquel and their family, rooting for them until the final page.

A Realistic Vulnerability — We need to Pay Attention
The book forced me to further recognize the vulnerability of our US infrastructure. Much needs to be done to not only our highways but our water and electrical supply. Mr. Romano’s book lays out a fictional plot on the NYC pipeline that truly gets you thinking about the need to protect America against terrorism. Besides the main plot, I enjoyed him weaving in characters of past books to into the storyline. It kept me guessing about “Who is going to solve this?” Finally, the pace quickened at the end which always makes me what to keep reading to finish it!

Reading Lou Romano's book is like sitting with him, enjoying a cigar and his telling you a story
My name is Kenny Solarino and I was introduced to Lou Romano's books some years ago by reading "Fish Farm" and I was hooked at that point. My wife Carol was born and raised in the Bronx, like Mr. Romano was so when I was reading the book I would ask her if she was familiar with places and things he wrote about, and she always said "Yes." I have read every book since and I love reading them. Lou knows his readership and writes to his readers. He writes like he speaks to you, on your level, and since he is not some snobby intellectual like many other writers are, speaking for myself, who is an average guy who was born and grew up in NJ, a stone throw from NYC and very familiar with it, I associate with much of what he writes about. He is a GREAT story teller and he holds my interest throughout every book I have read. Being Italian myself with great & grand parents from Italy I especially loved his book, "Carusi" the shame of Cicely. I felt as though I was there the whole time while reading it. His research is impeccable, and his readers benefit greatly from it. I also love how he incorporates characters from other books in a series into each other as he has done in "The Pipeline", bringing Gino Rano and John Deegan into the story. Louis Romano sounds like the kind of man I could just sit with, enjoy a cigar and listen to him tells stories about anything. I HIGHLY recommend this authors books, I am certain you will be waiting for his next one to be written after you are done. The Vic Gonnella and Gino Rano series are must reads if you like the underworld and detective type stories. Oh yeh, one more thing, all the main characters are very likeable , you actually feel as though you know them personally. I am halfway through "Pipeline" and I cannot put it down.

The Pipeline
After the US killed an Islamic General, The Revolutionary Guard planned a counterstrike against the US. A terrorist cell was dispatched to the States, told to lie low and scout their discretely. Helped by agents in place, they were able to do so until an unfortunate incident with a law enforcement officer in Upstate New York. Found at the scene were Middle Eastern cigarettes. Next came an attack in the Bronx - at a reservoir, where plans were stolen for a vital Aquaduct. When the NY Governor forms a task force, Vic Gonella and Raquel Ruiz were asked to take part in it. And of course, wherever Vic and Raquel are, John Deegan soon follows. Throw in the NY Mob and you've got one hell of a party !
