Cornhole games are played with two sets of four bags (eight total), two boards and two, four or eight players[8]. One set consists of four bags. Each set of bags should be different from the others, usually due to the use of different colours. The rules of the American Cornhole League require double stitched fabric bags measuring 150 x 150 mm (6 x 6 inches) and weighing 440 to 470 g (15.5 to 16.5 ounces). [8] Although the bags used to be filled with preserved corn grains (hence "cornhole") or dried beans, today they are usually filled with plastic or other materials that retain an even weight and shape over many casts without deforming. The bags are usually double sided, with each side of the bag being made of a different material that affects the grip and can react faster or slower to the surface of the game board. Faster bags are often preferred in damp conditions when the bags do not slip so easily. In addition, professional players can choose different materials depending on their personal throwing style. Players with lower, faster throws may use more rotation and prefer slower sack material, while players with higher, slower throws use less rotation and prefer a more reactive bag. Each board is 0.61 x 0.9 m and has a hole of 150 mm. Diameter. The centre of the hole is located in the middle of the top edge of the board. Each board is tilted so that the top edge of the playing surface is 300 mm above the ground and the bottom edge is 76-102 mm above the ground. With a standard space, the two boards are measured at a distance of 10 m or 8.2 m from the bottom edge of the boards. In confined spaces or for younger players, other (usually shorter) distances can also be used. Especially for children, there are some smaller versions of the game with reduced boards, bags and holes. The areas immediately left and right of the game boards are the boxes of the pitcher. The (drawn or imaginary) line that extends from the bottom edge of the game board to both the left and right is the Foulline. When throwing the bags, players must not exceed the foul line, otherwise the throw will not be counted.
