This is a high-functionality product and deserves review as I use its many features. So I will start now with "installation, learning the ropes, and early efforts" and will continue to update as I progress. The box says "Video Editing Made Simple." This is a bit of an overstatement for a novice like me. But if you are as motivated as I needed to be -- I promised to edit a 4-hour training video -- it is fair to call it, "Video Editing within the Reach of Beginners."Opening the box, I found 2 CDs and a Quick Start Guide, containing installation information and download instructions for those without disc drives. The download is available for two years. You also get a free year of 25 GB storage on CyberLink Cloud.I installed it on my Windows 11 Laptop with an external drive. Physical installation took about 5 minutes. But the process order differed from what the Guide said. Still, installing the main program was quite easy, aside from one critical screen that was hidden behind another. Their explanation of how to add the "extra content" on the two disks was not helpful. At some point, I just stuck the disks in again and looked at the menu, and saw what I needed to do. Each of 7 or 8 "content packs" takes 4+ minutes to install, so allow 35-45 minutes total.I considered jumping right in but decided to read a short tutorial first, because there was a lot of unfamiliar material on the program's editing screen. I also watched a few beginner tutorials by others I found on YouTube.With that start, I successfully edited a short practice video, and moved on to more challenging work. There were some bumps in the road, but basically the program works as it is supposed to and has awesome tools for all kinds of editing. What I have done so far on each of two videos is: removed some extraneous material in the middle of the video, created a smooth transition around that portion, put in a front-end and back-end title page, and divided the long sequence into segments. Then I uploaded them so they could be shared with the target audience. So this is pretty mundane stuff, but it is what I needed to do right away, and the program really worked well to achieve it.Although each feature is thought-through and seems pretty easy once you know how to do it, it is not necessarily intuitive for a total beginner. You have to either figure it out or frame a question and find the answer online. So far, I have always succeeded one way or the other!I think it will be a while, still, before extremely high-featured programs "do your bidding" in a way that doesn't require a learning curve. Being realistic, I would say this is a very capable program and worth investing the effort to learn, if you want to make appealing and creative videos. I plan to update this review as I start using more of the advanced features in the future.

I have PowerDirector 15. I bought PowerDirector 2024 Ultra in order to read and edit lut video files. But this software has following two disadvantages;1. Performance problem. Preview is too slow that it is hard to do editing2. "Apply to All" button for applying features to all clips is removed in this version.This product is totally unacceptable. I am very disappointed. Do not buy this product.
