Unable to program
I was hoping that I would be able to substitute the chip in my broken key and save $600 from the dealer, but this item did not work. It was not compatible with my key To a 2006 V50, And the chip did not fit. So I’m off to the dealer.

Good product
I drive over my original and cracked it. I tried glueing it but it eventually broke in my ignition. Volvo wanted almost as much as the car was worth for a new fob. But I found this little gem. It took a bit of effort to get the chip out of the old fob. I used a drummel tool and little cut off wheel. But it was definitely worth the effort. This fob is like brand new. Buyer beware.. it is a bit of effort to get the chip out. You’ll have to be resourceful. My “key” broke off the fob completely. So I didn’t have much choice.

Not a good replacement
Says Key Error when you try to use, so I switched back to the original. Could've saved the money.
